The image display apparatus comprising a signal separator configured to separate an audio signal and a video signal from an input image signal, an audio decoder configured to decode the audio signal, a sound outputter configured to output the decoded audio signal, a sound effect generator configured to generate a sound effect at a user's request, a communication interface configured to transmit the separated audio signal and the generated sound effect to a surrounding sound output apparatus, respectively, and a controller configured to control the communication interface to transmit the audio signal and the sound effect to the sound output apparatus, wherein the separated audio signal is transmitted when the sound output apparatus is connected.

Abstract: A data transmission apparatus and method are provided. The data transmission apparatus includes a USB interface unit that communicates with an external device using a TCP/IP packet, and a control unit that controls the USB interface unit to convert data into a TCP/IP packet along one of a plurality of transmission paths according to a priority of data processing and transmits the TCP/IP packet. Accordingly, data (e.g., control data) requiring urgent processing may be timely transmitted to an external device regardless of traffic of the data transmission apparatus.
