  • Patent number: 6599051
Abstract: A windshield wiper, in which an element of the frame of the wiper blade is articulated on the end of a wiper arm by a connector that is articulated on the frame. The connector includes a substantially inverted U-shaped front body which overlaps onto the center part of the hinge of the frame, such that the longitudinally sliding connector is accommodated in the front end of the arm. The connector includes a lock mechanism that locks in a longitudinally direction in relation to the arm. The connector also includes a retaining rod extending vertically with clearance through a hole that is dead center with the center part of the hinge of the frame element.

  • Patent number: 5776589
Abstract: A comolded multi-layered polymer blend system, comprising:at least two layers, each layer having a continuous polymer network of an optionally hydrogenated block copolymer which comprise at least two terminal polymonovinylaromatic blocks and at least one central polyconjugated diene block, and at least one of said layers comprising the continuous polymer network of the block copolymer further comprises a co-continuous rigid polymer phase consisting of a homopolyalkylene or a copolymer of alkylenes having from 2 to 10 carbon atoms;wherein the two layers are in intimate contact with each other;wherein the layers have different contents by weight of the block copolymers; andwherein an extender is present in each polymer network such that the final weight ratio of the block copolymer and the extender in each layer is the same. This comolded multi-layer polymer blend system is used to make air bags for automotive safety systems.

  • Patent number: 5566605
Abstract: An extraction cell of the centrifugal type for a hot beverage preparation machine, including a grounds collection drum on which is mounted, in a sealed manner by a sealing structure, a cover provided with a liquid delivery orifice, and a filtration structure, wherein the filtration structure and the sealing structure are constituted by at least one deformable joint, or seal, interposed in a groove between the drum and cover, the joint having deformation properties, and being mounted to be compressed by an amount which is in a pre-established compression range with the aid of a compression controlling means, to insure that below a pre-established operating pressure existing in the cell, fluid tightness of the cell is maintained, and beyond that pressure, filtration of the grounds-liquid mixture occurs by deformation of the joint.

  • Patent number: 5307191
Abstract: Calls are made in known manner between terminals in the form of information-carrying modulation applied to emission waves that travel along common transmission lines. An emission frequency (F(2P-1)) is allocated to each terminal for each call. According to the invention, a marking wave is supplied to all of the terminals while no call is yet being set up, thereby marking an emission frequency. When a new call is being set up, the marked frequency is allocated for the new call to at least one of the terminals that are to participate in the call. The invention is particularly applicable to communications by means of optical fibers.

  • Patent number: 5295967
Abstract: A syringe pump is disclosed having a transducer for detecting the force on the syringe pusher. The detected force is translated into a pressure which is continuously displayed so that the user can anticipate the occurrence of an occlusion. The syringe pump also has a device for pre-selecting a range of acceptable pressures.

  • Patent number: 4883622
Abstract: A method and apparatus for making multi-layered plastic tube reinforced with fibers by a co-extrusion process. The method and apparatus provide more specifically a multi-layered plastic tube with an intermediate layer thereof having discrete fibers where at least a major portion of the fibers is oriented to extend predominantly in a general direction lying between the circumferential and the longitudinal axis of the tube with the orientation of the fibers being generally the same throughout the thickness of the intermediate layer.

  • Patent number: 4842805
Abstract: The invention improves detecting that a control cluster has fallen into the reactor of a nuclear fission power station. Variations are monitored firstly in the nuclear power (3) and secondly in at least one parameter (1, 2) external to the reactor and having an influence on reactor control. A cluster is considered as having fallen when a rapid drop (12j) is detected in said power while no variation (12a, 12b, . . . 12h) is simultaneously detected in an external parameter that could have given rise to said power drop.Application to producing electricity.
