Abstract: Disclosed herein are a layer structure providing method for converting and displaying a background screen based on data storage information and a background screen converting method therefor, and a mobile terminal for the same. The providing method includes providing and configuring a background layer to match to one region on an application-by-application basis within the mobile terminal, and displaying and providing the data storage information on the application-by-application basis, as background, to the region; and providing and matching a visual item layer to each region provided from the background layer, and displaying and providing a value based on the data storage information of the region matching to each application.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for providing a user interface. The apparatus for providing a user interface, includes a controller operating such that a lock image with respect to at least a partial user interface and an object for changing a lock state to a release state are displayed on a screen, and a touch sensor sensing a first contact of a touch gesture on the object, wherein the controller determines a distance between the object and a second contact of the touch gesture with respect to the first contact on the object, and changes the lock state to the release state and the removes the lock image from the screen when the distance between the object and the second contact of the touch gesture is greater than a preset threshold.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for editing a screen of a mobile device having a touch screen. In an idle mode, the mobile device displays an item display region containing at least one item on an idle screen. In an edit mode, the mobile device displays an edit command region containing at least one predetermined edit command on an edit screen. When a first item contained in the item display region is moved to the edit command region, the mobile device executes the predetermined edit command assigned to a moved position of the edit command region.

Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus and method for road guidance using a mobile terminal. The method for road guidance using a mobile terminal includes receiving a map image created by a users input, setting at least one user-designated location to the map image according to the users input, setting location information of the user-designated location to the user-designated location, comparing the location information of the user-designated location with current location information of the mobile terminal; and notifying of arrival at the user-designated location. A user may arrive at a desired destination according to the present invention without using map data provided by a map data service provider.
