Publication number: 20150128692Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium for monitoring a fluid injection at a downhole location in a wellbore is disclosed. A member is provided in the wellbore. The member includes a passage for flow of fluid and a fiber optic cable including a plurality of temperature sensitive sensors wrapped around the member. A selected temperature signal is imparted into the fluid flowing in the member. A temperature of the fluid exiting the member at the downhole location is measured using the plurality of temperature sensors. The measured temperature and the imparted temperature signal are compared to determine a flow parameter of the injected fluid.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2013Publication date: May 14, 2015Applicant: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventors: Jeff Chen, Luis E. Mendez, Chee M. Chok, Xudong Yang

Publication number: 20150114628Abstract: A system, method and computer readable medium for determining a feature in a wellbore is disclosed. A distributed temperature sensing system is disposed along the wellbore. A thermal perturbation is induced along the wellbore. A profile is determined of temperature change in response to the applied thermal perturbation using the distributed temperature sensing system. The feature of the wellbore is determined using the measured temperature profile.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2013Publication date: April 30, 2015Applicant: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventors: Jeff Chen, Chee M. Publication number: 20150120194Abstract: A method, system and computer-readable medium for obtaining a temperature profile of a wellbore is disclosed. Raw temperature data are obtained from the wellbore using a distributed temperature sensing system. The raw temperature data includes noise. A numerical decomposition is performed on the raw temperature data within a dynamic window in a measurement space of the raw temperature data to obtain decomposition terms of order of first order and higher. An adaptive filter is applied to the decomposition terms of first order and higher within the dynamic window to reduce noise from the decomposition terms of first order and higher. The filtered decomposition terms of first order and higher are used to obtain a temperature profile of the wellbore.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2013Publication date: April 30, 2015Applicant: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventor: Jeff Chen

Publication number: 20150114631Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for stimulating a formation is disclosed. A stimulation operation is performed at a selected stimulation zone of the formation using a first value of stimulation parameter. A temperature measurement profile is obtained at the formation during the stimulation operation, wherein the obtained temperature measurement profile is indicative of a parameter related to the stimulation operation. The downhole parameter is determined using the obtained temperature measurements, and stimulation parameter is altered to a second value in real-time based on the determined parameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2013Publication date: April 30, 2015Applicant: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventors: Jeff Chen, Chee M. Publication number: 20150000016Abstract: An eyewear temple arm mounted to an eyewear device, wherein a distal portion of the elongated body member defines a parking structure. A distal edge portion of the structure defines an opening into a cavity thereof which is formed and dimensioned for free sliding, peripheral receipt of at least the proximal portion of a functional element therein between an operational condition and a parked condition. A cover member is configured to cooperate with the parking structure for movement between an opened condition and a closed condition. In the opened condition, the functional element can be moved to the operational condition, while in the closed condition, the cover member extends over the parking structure opening to substantially enclose at least the distal portion of the functional element therein.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 3, 2014Publication date: January 1, 2015Inventors: Brent CRAWFORD, Bill E. BRAUNER, Brad NEMETH, Jeff CHEN, Robin LIU

Patent number: 8875389Abstract: Systems and methods electrically connect a first electronic device or electrical component, having a external electrical connector, to a circuit board of a second electronic device. A low-cost, user-installable connection system isolates mechanical stresses imposed on the external electrical connector to within the user-installable connection system, thereby preventing the mechanical stresses from reaching the circuit board in the second electronic device. If the connection becomes faulty, only the low-cost, user-installable connection system must be replaced.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2011Date of Patent: November 4, 2014Assignee: Flextronics AP, LLCInventors: Ken Kan, Jeff Chen, Michael Chang

Publication number: 20140236662Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for that have a cross-module scope for facilitating the use and management of rules on an application level. The rules engine system is configured to accept inputs from multiple modules of an application, retrieve data from multiple modules, and cause actions to be carried out by multiple modules. A rules engine provider component of the system is isolated from a rules manager component of the system by a rules wrapper component, such that the rules manager component is unaffected by changes that are made to the rules engine provider component.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2013Publication date: August 21, 2014Applicant: McKesson Financial HoldingsInventors: Xiaofeng Jeff Chen, Jim Rushing

Publication number: 20140226332Abstract: LED downlight and other point source luminaires contain one or more Application-Specific LED modules with integrated optical, mechanical, and heat dissipation systems; a fluted extruded metal housing acts as a heat sink as well as the luminaire housing containing the AS-LED module(s) or receiving a rotatable spherical housing that contains the AS-LED module, printed circuit board units, and wires; mounting brackets; and a remote LED driver. The extruded aluminum housing (and heat sink) may be comprised of a single cylinder or multiple concentric cylinders. The heat dissipation base of the AS-LED module can be any shape and size dependent on the type of LED luminaire the AS-LED module is designed for. The LED luminaires have a short thermal path, including just one electrical/thermal insulation layer between the LED chips and the housing, and one optical lens system between the LED chips and the surrounding ambient air.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2014Publication date: August 14, 2014Applicant: Sunlite Science & Technology, Inc.Inventor: Jeff Chen
