Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and apparatuses to enable subscribers of mobile wireless communication devices to view, research, select and customize service plans; to create and manage device groups, share and set permission controls for service plans among devices in device groups; to manage communication services through graphical user interfaces; to sponsor and promote service plans; and to design, manage, and control communication services through application programming interfaces.

Abstract: An improved radiant heater and combustion chamber for use with radiant heating are described. The combustion chamber is made up of two different materials in different regions, an insulating portion and a conductive portion. Heat transfer is maximized through the conductive portion, whose shape can be altered to modify the radiant energy being emitted. The improved radiant heater radiates substantial amounts of heat in useful directions over large distances without the use of reflectors.

Abstract: A flow tagging technique includes tagging a data flow at a plurality of points in the data flow. For example, the data flow can be tagged at a socket and at a proxy manager API. By tagging the data flow at multiple points, it becomes possible to map network service usage activities to the appropriate initiating applications.

Abstract: A device having: an application program that assists the device in accessing a data service over a wireless access network, an application credential associated with the application program, and a policy to be applied when the application program initiates or attempts to initiate communication over the wireless access network. The device also has one or more agents that detect an attempted installation of update software on the device, the update software purporting to be a modification, update, or replacement of the application program; obtain an update-software credential associated with the update software; obtain the application credential; allow the update software to be installed if the update-software credential matches the application credential; and interact with the application program to arrange a setting of the application program, the setting configured to assist in applying the policy when the application program initiates or attempts to initiate communication over the wireless access network.

Abstract: Mobile end-user devices are disclosed having a stored network access policy, applicable to specific applications stored on and executable by the device. The policy specifies, for at least some of the applications, whether or not those applications are individually allowed to initiate access network communication activity using one or more wireless data modems, when those applications are running as a background application. One or more device agents, which may operate at different points within the device in different embodiments, enforce the policies based on a determination as to whether a running application is running as a background application.

Abstract: A turbine engine fleet wash management system is configured to electronically communicate with a turbine engine system, a fleet management service, and a cleaning management service. The turbine engine fleet wash system causes a cleaning of a turbine engine to occur based on information received from the turbine engine system and other sources. The turbine engine fleet wash management system includes a cleaning schedule optimizer that generates a cleaning schedule based on engine health monitoring data, engine operation data, maintenance schedules for the turbine engine, and cleaning regimen data. The cleaning schedule optimizer estimates turbine engine performance improvements based on the selected cleaning regimen, and calculating an estimate of carbon credits earned based on the predicted improvement in turbine engine performance.

Abstract: Wands are used as parts of cleaning systems to conduct cleaning agents into gas turbine engine cores. Wands according to the present disclosure include inlet assemblies adapted to connect to cleaning agents, dispensers adapted to discharge cleaners into gas turbine engines, and conduits that extend from the inlet assemblies to the dispensers.

The aircraft includes at least one valve configured to block cleaning agent from moving from the turbine engine into a passenger cabin of the aircraft.

Abstract: A turbofan gas turbine engine for use in an aircraft includes a fan, an engine core, and a cleaning system. The fan and engine core cooperate to provide thrust for an aircraft when in use but may suffer performance degradation when dirty. The cleaning system is configured to conduct a cleaning agent from a supply into the turbofan gas turbine engine to clean the turbofan gas turbine engine.

Abstract: A wireless end-user device contains a wireless modem, a network stack configurable to receive and transmit network data via the wireless modem, a media service manager, and a service classification agent. The media service manager manages network data transfers for media objects as requested by multiple applications. Even though the media service manager manages the network data transfers, the service classification agent provides a capability to associate network data usage for the network data transfers with the applications that requested the service from the media service manager.

Abstract: Improvements in a graffiti covering skin are disclosed the covering skin is formed from multiple layers of different materials. Each layer of the skin provides different functions to provide a material that covers existing graffiti and creates a new surface that reduces or repels future graffiti from being placed on the original host surface. One of the layers is thin visual pattern layer that provides the desired appearance of a hard surface of stainless steel, wood, color, marble, granite or light filtering. This layer provides a structural rigidity that maintains dimensional stability. The thickness of the skin is sufficient to cover imperfections, scratches or gouges in the surface being covered. The skin is backed with a removable adhesive that is removed from a host surface without leaving a residue. Each skin is measured and cut to the desired size before placement on the host surface.
