  • Patent number: 10942901
Abstract: In a media automation system, a database server transmits a request to a traffic and billing system to identify both an advertisement for potential inclusion in a content block, and a first primary programming item to be scheduled adjacent to the advertisement in a broadcast log, i.e. a paired advertisement and primary programming item, and receives a message identifying the advertisement and the first primary programming item from the traffic and billing system in response to that request. The database server responds to the message from the traffic and billing system by inserting the advertisement into the broadcast log adjacent to the first primary programming item, transmitting a signal notifying the traffic and billing system that the advertisement and the first primary programming item have been inserted into the broadcast log, and delivering the broadcast log to a media server.

  • Publication number: 20210067568
Abstract: A method includes obtaining a master broadcast log and multiple station broadcast logs. The master log includes: a master voice track slot; a master prior slot adjacent to and preceding the master voice track slot; and a master subsequent slot adjacent to and following the master voice track slot. The station broadcast logs include corresponding voice tracks, preceding slots, and subsequent slots. Prior and subsequent slots specify media items. One, but not both, of the media items in the prior and subsequent slots of a first station log match corresponding slots in the master log. A partial-match indicator is generated. Media items in both the prior and subsequent slots of a second station log match corresponding slots in the master log. A full-match indicator is generated. A graphical user interface displays the partial-match indicator and the full-match indicator in different display areas.

  • Patent number: 10937007
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for electronically tracking vehicle state in a vehicle maintenance facility. When a vehicle enters a maintenance facility, maintenance facility personnel can assess the vehicle and assign a vehicle collision repair and/or maintenance workflow for performing indicated repairs and/or maintenance. The vehicle can also be assigned an identifier and fitted with one or more transmitters. As a vehicle moves between workstations and/or staging areas, the one or more transmitters continually transmit. A server uses signals from the transmitters to track vehicle progress through the vehicle maintenance workflow. If constraints of the maintenance workflow are violated (e.g., a vehicle is at a workstation to long), the server notifies relevant parties.

  • Patent number: 10928334
Abstract: Methods for determining desired doping conditions for a semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotube (s-SWCNT) are provided. One exemplary method includes doping each of a plurality of s-SWCNT networks under a respective set of doping conditions; determining a thermoelectric (TE) power factor as a function of a fractional bleach of an absorption spectrum for the plurality of s-SWCNT networks doped under the respective sets of doping conditions; and using the function to identify one of the TE power factors within a range of the fractional bleach of the absorption spectrum. The identified TE power factor corresponds to the desired doping conditions.

  • Patent number: 10932011
Abstract: An attention marker can be transmitted to a radio receiver using an out-of-band transmission. One or more watermarks can be inserted in an over-the-air broadcast. A radio can include a tuner for receiving the over-the-air broadcast; an out-of-band receiver to receive substitute media content and the attention marker; memory to store the substitute media content; a user interface to play out media content to a user; and processing circuitry implementing multiple modules such as a marker detection module, a watermark detection module, and a local playout control module. The marker detection module can detect the out-of-band attention marker, and in response to detection of the attention marker trigger or schedule activation/deactivation of the watermark detection module. If the watermark detection module detects a watermark, the substitute content stored in the memory can be played out in place of the broadcast content.

  • Patent number: 10922136
Abstract: A subscription server generates, at a clock generation module, a clock template including a plurality of slots, each slot associated with at least one content type, and wherein the clock template includes information indicating timing relationships of the plurality of slots relative to one another. The subscription server determines that a media log is to be generated from the clock template for one or more subscribers, and obtains, from a subscription verification module implemented by the processor and associated memory, trust parameters associated with the one or more subscribers. A log generation module implemented by the processor and associated memory, generates a media log including at least one slot assigned a restriction level determined based on the trust parameters. The media log, including information indicating the restriction level, is transmitted to at least one of the one or more subscribers.

  • Publication number: 20210037074
Abstract: The same sequence of media items is pre-distributed to storage devices at multiple locations. A local program component, including content not in the pre-distributed sequence of media items, is obtained at a first media mixer at a first location. A control signal associated with playout of the pre-distributed media items is obtained at a first processing device co-located with the first media mixer. The local program component is transmitted to a second media mixer located at a second location. Separately from the local program component, the control signal is transmitted from the first processing device to a second processing device, co-located with the second media mixer. The control signal is synchronized to the local program component at the second location to generate a synchronized media program control. The pre-distributed sequence of media items is mixed with the local program component as directed by the synchronized media program control.

  • Publication number: 20210017704
Abstract: A method of pulping wastepaper includes providing a pulping vessel with a rotor and at least one flow sensor adapted to measure slurry flow within the pulping vessel. The pulping vessel is charged with wastepaper and water to form a slurry, the amounts of wastepaper and water being present such that the slurry has consistency in the range of from 10% to 30%. The wastepaper charge in the pulping vessel is pulped at a pre-selected power level while monitoring poloidal slurry flow in the pulping vessel; and from time-to-time, water may be added to the pulping vessel when the poloidal flow falls below a predetermined lower threshold flow value in order to reduce viscosity and thereby restore poloidal flow within the pulping vessel. Doppler velocimetry is a preferred method of monitoring pulp flow. In a particularly preferred construction the rotor has a variable power drive.
