  • Publication number: 20130262779
Abstract: Profiling and analyzing modules may be combined with hardware modules to identify a likelihood that a particular region of code in a computer program contains data that would benefit from prefetching. Those regions of code that would not benefit from prefetching may also be identified. Once a region of code has been identified, a hardware prefetcher may be selectively enabled or disable when executing code in identified code region. In some instances, once a processing device finishes executing code in the identified code region, the state of the hardware prefetcher may then be switched back to its original state. Systems, methods, and media are provided.

  • Patent number: 7429933
Abstract: A bracket and method for use in mounting a transducer/antenna unit in an underground meter box of the type which contains a remote-reading water meter. The box has a peripheral ledge defining an access opening that seats a lid. The bracket comprises a pair of beams which are spaced-apart sufficient to enable the installation and support of a cap containing the antenna. A pair of right angles on the beam ends are seated between the ledge and lid to suspend the beam and therefore the antenna at a predetermined height below the lid. The height is sufficient for holding the antenna at a position which is optimum for radiating RF signals for pick up by an above-ground remote receiver.

  • Patent number: 6961783
Abstract: A method for controlling access to information from a DNS server having an access control list specifying clients approved to receive an IP address corresponding to a domain name of a target host is disclosed. The method includes receiving a request from a client for an IP address of a domain name at the DNS server and looking up the domain name in an access control list. The client is sent a reply containing the IP address of the domain name if the client is authorized in the access control list to receive the IP address. If the client is not authorized to receive the IP address, the request is denied.

  • Patent number: 5842357
Abstract: A process for concentrating and recovering methane and carbon dioxide from landfill gas includes absorption of commonly occurring pollutants using a reduced amount of carbon dioxide absorbent which itself may be an in situ derived and recoverable constituent. Separated methane may be concentrated into a high heating value fuel, and a highly pure food-grade carbon dioxide product may also be recovered. Process streams may be used to provide fuel for compression and refrigeration and/or to regenerate carbon dioxide absorbent.

  • Patent number: 5515828
Abstract: An electronic engine controller (EEC) controls transient engine operation by generating a desired torque value which is indicative of an engine torque desired by a driver of the vehicle and by generating a desired air/fuel ratio value which is indicative of a desired air/fuel ratio to be combusted by the engine. The EEC also generates an actual torque value which is indicative of the actual engine torque and an actual air/fuel value which is indicative of the air/fuel ratio actually combusted by the engine. The actual A/F may be the output of a standard, switching type EGO sensor. An air/fuel difference value indicative of the difference between the actual air/fuel value and the desired air/fuel value is generated, and a torque difference value, indicative of the difference between the actual torque value and the desired torque value is generated.

  • Patent number: 5452576
Abstract: An engine air/fuel control system (8) and method for controlling an engine (28) coupled to a catalytic converter (50) and for providing a measurement of engine emissions (202-296). Nitrogen oxides concentration, hydrocarbon concentration, and carbon monoxide concentration of exhaust gases downstream of the converter are measured (46, 54, and 52). Each concentration measurement is averaged for the speed load cell in which such measurement occurred (244-256). Each concentration average measurement is converted to a measurement of mass emissions emitted during a test cycle (268-284). Fuel delivered to the engine is corrected by a feedback variable (104-134, 158-178) derived from both an exhaust gas oxygen sensor (44) positioned upstream of the converter and the three sensors positioned downstream of the converter (46, 52, 54). A measurement of emissions in response to the averaged mass measurements of emission concentration downstream of the converter is also provided (278-296).
