  • Patent number: 11211186
Abstract: A power diffusing assembly includes a power diffusing body disposed along a flow path of a compressible fluid. The power diffusing body includes passages extending through the power diffusing body and through which at least part of the fluid flows through the power diffusing body. The power diffusing body receives an incoming flow profile of the fluid on an inlet side of the power diffusing body, directs the fluid through the passages in the power diffusing body, and outputs an outgoing flow profile of the fluid out of an outlet side of the power diffusing body. Arrangements of the passages in the power diffusing body are based on the incoming flow profile of the fluid that are received by the power diffusing body and are based on a desired profile of the outgoing flow profile of the fluid exiting out of the power diffusing body.

  • Patent number: 11052742
Abstract: A mounting system includes a chassis, guide rods, and lifting elements. The guide rods extend from a back wall of the chassis and are suspended above a support platform of the chassis. A first guide rod is spaced a designated height above the support platform to be received within a channel of a module while the module is disposed on the support platform. The first guide rod guides movement of the module towards the back wall. As the module approaches the back wall, a first lifting element engages the module at an angled contact interface to lift the module off the support platform responsive to additional movement of the module towards the back wall. When the module is fully loaded, the module is supported by the back wall, the first lifting element, and/or the first guide rod, and is spaced apart from the support platform by a gap.

  • Patent number: 10981556
Abstract: Embodiments of the subject matter disclosed herein relate to controlling engine operating points and power for full throttle command in an off-highway vehicle, such as a diesel electric haul truck, to increase fuel efficiency. In one example, a system includes an engine and a controller. The controller is configured to determine a target engine horsepower and associated target engine speed, command the engine to operate at a first engine speed above the target engine speed, adjust a load placed on the engine to reach the target engine speed, and command the engine to operate at a second engine speed to reach the target engine horsepower.

  • Patent number: 10845426
Abstract: A system for testing a ground fault detection system in an electric circuit establishes a ground connection between a bus and the ground via an inverter and a load by closing an inverter switch of the inverter and a grounding switch disposed between the load and the ground, determines whether the ground connection is detected, and determines a fault in the ground fault detection system responsive to the first ground connection not being detected by the ground fault detection system. Optionally, a ground fault may be identified by determining three phase voltages provided from each of plural inverters, determining symmetrical components of the three phase voltages for each of the inverters, and identifying a ground fault in one or more of the inverters while powered by the power supply based on the symmetrical components.

  • Publication number: 20200223435
Abstract: A vehicle control system determines an upper non-zero limit on deceleration of a vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle down a grade being traveled up on by the vehicle. The upper non-zero limit on deceleration is determined by the controller based on a payload carried by the vehicle, a speed of the vehicle, and a grade of a route being traveled upon by the vehicle. The controller is configured to monitor the deceleration of the vehicle, and to automatically prevent the deceleration of the vehicle from exceeding the upper non-zero limit by controlling one or more of a brake or a motor of the vehicle. The controller also is configured to one or more of actuate the brake or supply current to the motor of the vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle while the vehicle is moving up the grade at a non-zero speed.
