  • Patent number: 11179792
Abstract: A torch for connection to an electric arc welding system having a wire feeder, a power source and a weld process controller for the power source. The torch being connected to the front end of a welding gun, which gun has a rear end with a first unique component of a connector. The welding system has a second component of the connector matching the first component. The gun has a communication channel extending from the torch to the first component for transmitting data to the welding system through the connector. The torch has a memory with an identification code outputted on the communication channel to the first component and the system has a decoder circuit connected to the second component and responsive to a selected identification code.

  • Patent number: 10543555
Abstract: The invention described herein generally pertains to a system and method related to a semi-automatic or a manual welding operation and utilizing a member or a clamp to removeably secure a torch or a torch cable to a wire feeder. The member can include a first portion that is separated from a second portion, wherein a curved portion is in between the first portion and the second portion. The member can include an opening on the first portion that blocks a path of connect or disconnect with a portion of the torch or the torch cable. Further, the member can include an aperture on the second portion that is used to couple to a portion of the wire feeder with a fastener.

  • Publication number: 20190134828
Abstract: A robotic accessory mounting assembly used in connection with a robot to attach an accessory to the robot, the mounting assembly including a cable connected to an implement mounted on the robot; the cable having a cable length; the implement including a first component having a first length, wherein the implement with the first component has an implement length that corresponds to the cable length; and a second component adapted to replace the first component, the second component having a length less than the first component, wherein replacement of the first component with the second component reduces the implement length defining a clearance relative to the cable length to receive an accessory mount in-line with the implement.

  • Patent number: 10144080
Abstract: A cutting system including a plasma arc torch having an electrode, nozzle, and a gas conduit through which gas is transferred to a torch tip. The torch includes at least one of a sensor and a set circuit, where the set circuit stores a parameter related to the torch. The system also includes a power supply outputting a cutting waveform to the electrode via an electrical connector to initiate a working arc. The working arc creates a plasma arc using the gas. The system further includes a controller that controls an output of the power supply and a feeding of the gas through the gas conduit based upon input from a user input device positioned on at least one of the torch and the power supply. The controller monitors at least one usage parameter. The system additionally includes a memory device that is coupled to the controller. The memory device stores data related to the at least one usage parameter.
