  • Publication number: 20230011087
Abstract: A recording device provides bystander-centric privacy controls for authorizing the storage of a bystander's identifying information (e.g., video or audio recordings of the bystander). Before a recording device can store identifying information of bystanders, the bystanders may indicate to the recording device whether they authorize the storage. If the bystanders do not authorize the storage, the recording device may modify the identifying information captured by sensors, such as a video camera or a microphone, such that the identity of the non-authorizing bystander is not identifiable through the modified identifying information. Thus, bystanders are given increased agency over whether they want to be recorded. Further, if the bystanders do not want to be recorded, sensor data that may identify them is modified by the recording device to prevent unwanted exposure of their identity in recorded content.

  • Publication number: 20210378462
Abstract: A method for loading a stack of individual paper units into a dispenser includes inwardly pushing on a pair of oppositely disposed end portions of respective lateral walls of the dispenser, thereby releasing a drawer of the dispenser for sliding movement of that drawer relative to a remainder of the dispenser. The drawer includes first and second, oppositely disposed sidewalls, a bottom wall, and an arcuate front wall that has a dispensing aperture. The bottom wall of the drawer extends between the first and second sidewalls of the drawer, and the sidewalls of the drawer define an open end of the drawer opposite the bottom wall and, jointly with the bottom wall and arcuate front wall, defines a storage volume of the drawer. The drawer is slid outwardly relative to a remainder of the dispenser to thereby expose the first and second sidewalls and bottom wall of the drawer.

  • Publication number: 20210204765
Abstract: A method for loading a stack of interfolded paper units into a dispenser includes inserting a stack of interfolded paper units into an interior volume of the dispenser through a dispenser opening. The dispenser has a lid having a dispensing aperture, as well as a movable platen that has a paper-engaging surface, and which is urged upwardly toward the dispenser opening. A bottom wall of the dispenser is disposed opposite the dispenser opening, and a lock of the dispenser is selectively engageable with the platen. The stack is placed on the platen and a downward force is exerted on the top surface of the stack to thereby push the platen downward until the platen has been engaged by the lock and has reached a locked position in which the paper-engaging surface has an oblique orientation relative to the bottom wall of the dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20210186224
Abstract: A temperature-regulating mattress system provides dynamic adjustment of temperature and other parameters throughout a user's sleep cycle to maximize the quality of the user's sleep, Features of the system may include: (a) heating and cooling temperature regulation (with dynamic custom profiles that control humidity and are dual-zone); (b) smart controls (with remotes and apps that learn from users to optimize settings and work with smart home products such as Alexa and interactive lighting systems); (c) comfort (with a mattress that provide the necessary support for its users); and (d) sensors used for temperature and humidity estimation algorithms, control mechanism, and additional inferences from those sensors (pose, enrichment of biometric sensing data, etc.).

  • Publication number: 20210072232
Abstract: A system and method for detecting harmful substances within a consumable sample comprising: receiving a consumable sample at a first chamber of a test container; transforming the consumable sample into a homogenized sample upon processing of the consumable sample; delivering the homogenized sample to a second chamber of the test container, wherein the second chamber is configured to receive the homogenized sample comprises an outlet port; mixing the homogenized sample with a process reagent within the second chamber, thereby producing a dispersion; transmitting a volume of the dispersion to an analysis chamber, of the test container, configured to position a detection substrate proximal the port of the second chamber and comprising a detection window that enables detection of presence of the allergen; and detecting presence of the allergen within the consumable sample by way of an optical sensor configured to detect signals indicative of the allergen through the detection window.

  • Publication number: 20200200738
Abstract: A self-contained apparatus and methods for detecting the presence of any specified substance in any medium. A sample of the medium is placed in a capsule, along with a solvent and a sensor configured to test for a target analyte. The solvent comes into contact with the medium in the capsule, and the capsule is agitated to create a dispersion in the solvent of a portion of any target analyte present in the medium. A release mechanism configured to cause conduction of the dispersion to the sensor, so that the sensor produces an indication of presence of the target analyte if the target analyte is present in the medium. The apparatus uses a disposable capsule where the medium in question is placed and the disposable capsule is placed inside a reader and analyzed for presence of the harmful substance.
