  • Patent number: 10960161
Abstract: In a respiratory apparatus for treatment of sleep apnea and other disorders associated with an obstruction of a patient's airway and which uses an airflow signal, an obstruction index is generated which detects the flattening of the inspiratory portion of the airflow. The flattening index serves as an obstruction index used to differentiate normal and obstructed breathing. The obstruction index is based upon comparison of values of airflow in different sectors of the inspiratory peak of the wave function and is particularly suitable for distinguishing M shaped or square shaped respiratory patterns indicative of partially obstructed airways.

  • Publication number: 20210085214
Abstract: Automated devices provide methodologies for determining sleep conditions, which may be in conjunction with treatment of sleep disordered breathing by a pressure treatment apparatus such as a continuous positive airway pressure device. Based on a measure of respiratory airflow, respiratory characteristics are extracted to detect arousal conditions, sleep stability, sleep states and/or perform sleep quality assessments. The methodologies may be implemented for data analysis by a specific purpose computer, a monitoring device that measures a respiratory airflow and/or a respiratory treatment apparatus that provides a respiratory treatment regime based on the detected conditions.

  • Patent number: 10952128
Abstract: Example techniques relate to re-establishing connectivity of playback devices. In an example implementation, a first playback device determines that a first access point has been replaced with a second access point, wherein the first playback device previously established a valid network connection over the first WLAN using first network parameters. The first playback device connects to the second access point, the second access point providing a second WLAN. The first playback device requests, via the wireless network interface from the second access point, an IP address in a second subnet, the second subnet covering a different range of IP addresses than the first subnet and establishes a network connection over the second WLAN using second network parameters stored in the data storage of the first playback device.

  • Publication number: 20210046267
Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide automated controls for a respiratory pressure therapy device, such as a servo-ventilator. For example, a controller of a respiratory pressure therapy device may control application of pressure support ventilation therapy to an airway of a patient. The controller may control the respiratory pressure therapy device to auto-titrate an expiratory positive airway pressure (EPAP) of a pressure support ventilation therapy so as to maintain airway patency of the patient. The EPAP may be bounded below by a floor pressure limit. The controller may control the respiratory pressure therapy device to repeatedly adjust the floor pressure limit depending on events of interest during the auto-titration of the EPAP. Such methodologies may improve treatment for patients such as those suffering from sleep disordered breathing-comorbid hyperarousal disorders.

  • Patent number: 10888776
Abstract: Described herein are, among other things, handheld controllers that include one or more touchpads (i.e., touch-sensitive controls) configured to detachably couple to one or more overlays that effectively transform the respective touchpad into a different control. For instance, one example handheld controller may include a circular trackpad that is configured to detect a position of a finger on a top surface of the trackpad. This position may be used to control a cursor or avatar, for scrolling, or for any other type of command. In general, most or all of the top surface may be usable by a user for providing input to the controller and/or a remote system coupled to the controller. As described herein, however, one or more different overlays may detachably couple to a housing of the controller and/or the trackpad itself to effectively change the use of the trackpad.
