  • Patent number: 6862973
Abstract: In one embodiment a pneumatic motor is provided that includes an intake chamber in fluid communication with at least one intake channel. Each intake channel is further in fluid communication with a corresponding cylinder, which receives a piston that cycles upwardly and downwardly to rotate a motor axle. A member is placed in each intake channel to seal the corresponding cylinder from each intake channel when compressed fluid in the intake channel has a higher pressure then pressure in the corresponding cylinder. Each piston includes an actuator extending downwardly from the piston and having a profile that, during a portion of the upward cycle of the piston, causes the actuator to push the member back into each intake channel to allow compressed fluid into each of the corresponding cylinders. Each piston includes an intermediate section that has an annular groove, a seal positioned in the groove that creates a fluid tight seal against the corresponding cylinder during the upward cycle of the piston.

  • Publication number: 20040163385
Abstract: In one embodiment, a pneumatic power-supply assembly includes a refillable chamber having an interior capable for holding a pressurized fluid, a vent, and a fluid inlet. A pressure release mechanism within the chamber permits the pressure within the chamber to vent, when the pressure exceeds a predetermined optimum pressure. A pneumatic motor is mounted within the chamber and includes an inlet in fluid communication with the interior of the chamber. The pneumatic motor utilizes the pressurized fluid within the interior of the chamber to drive a gear rotatably attached to the pneumatic motor. In addition, the gear rotates an axle rotatably attached to the chamber such that the when the assembly is attached to a pneumatic operated device the rotatable axle may be used by the pneumatically operated device. In addition, a external pump is attached to the fluid inlet to continually recharge the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6758436
Abstract: A propeller related vehicle in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention is described as a helicopter having an airframe housing a pneumatic motor mechanism for powering a main propeller attached to a main drive shaft. The helicopter further includes a horizontal stabilizing means attached between the main propeller and the main drive shaft, which permits the main propeller to freely pivot about the main drive shaft independently from the airframe. As such when the main propeller is rotating and the main propeller begins to pitch, the rotating main propeller has a centrifugal force created by the rotation thereof and will tend to pivot about the horizontal stabilizing means in a manner that offsets the pitch such that the helicopter remains in a substantially horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 6732973
Abstract: A stabilizer attached between a propeller and a shaft; and the propeller is pivotally mounted to the shaft in a substantially perpendicular plane to the shaft. The stabilizer has a tendency to exert a reactionary force on the propeller, when the propeller pivots in relation to the shaft, such that the reactionary force tends to return the propeller in the substantially perpendicular plane.

  • Patent number: 6689078
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, an oral cleaning device is provided with a nozzle to jet a pressurized liquid. The oral cleaning device has a body, a neck extending from the body and a head attached to the neck. The oral cleaning device further includes a refillable reservoir defined by the body for holding a liquid. An on-board pump is used to pressurize the liquid contained in the reservoir. The oral cleaning device further includes a channel from the reservoir to the nozzle in the head such that when pressurized fluid in the reservoir is released, the fluid jets from the oral cleaning device. The head and neck assembly is also interchangeable with other head and neck assemblies to provide different cleaning features. First, the nozzle by itself to remove plaque and to simulate flossing between teeth. Second, the nozzle with bristles and the head shaped to brush teeth. Third, the nozzle with bristles and the head shaped to brush a tongue.

Abstract: A propeller related vehicle in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention is described as a helicopter having an airframe housing a motor mechanism for powering a main propeller attached to a main drive shaft that extends vertically through the airframe and for powering a tail rotor. As such when the main propeller is rotating and the main propeller begins to pitch, the rotating main propeller has a centrifugal force created by the rotation thereof and will tend to pivot about the horizontal stabilizing mechanism in a manner that offsets the pitch such that the helicopter remains in a substantially horizontal position. In addition various main propeller configurations may be employed that provide additional self-stabilization.

  • Patent number: 6622333
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention a pneumatic-operated toothbrush incorporates a pump that a user may utilize to pump are into and pressurize air in a reservoir. The reservoir is attached to a pneumatic motor, which utilizes the pressurized air inside the reservoir to rotate a drive shaft. Attached to the end of the drive shaft is a plurality of bristles that rotate when the drive shaft is rotating. The motor will continue to rotate the bristles as long as the pressure inside the reservoir is sufficient enough to force the air into the pneumatic motor. When the motor stops rotating the bristles, the user can pump air back inside the reservoir for continued use. It is important to note that the pneumatic toothbrush for the present invention is a self-contained device, meaning that the reservoir, motor and pump are incorporated into a single toothbrush. In addition the present invention does not use batteries or other electrical elements to power the motor.

  • Patent number: 6592422
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention there is provided a toy figure in combination with a toy megaphone. The toy figure includes a circuit board to store pre-programmed audio outputs having different volume levels and a speaker to emit the pre-programmed audio outputs. The toy figure also includes a switch to activate the emitting of an audio output with a first volume level, as well as a sensor that when activated triggers the toy figure to emit a second audio output with a second volume level that is different than the first volume level. The toy megaphone has the ability to activate the sensor such that the toy figure emits the second audio output. When the toy figure is activated through the switch, the toy figure will emit the first audio output with a first volume level until the toy megaphone comes in proximity to the sensor in the toy figure, at which point the toy figure will emit the second pre-programmed audio output that has a second volume level different from the first volume level.

  • Patent number: 6517408
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention there is disclosed a toy bicycle that includes a rear wheel assembly rotatably connected to the bicycle. The rear wheel assembly encloses a flywheel and a means of interconnecting the flywheel and the rear wheel. The interconnecting means serves to energize the flywheel in response to a rotational force applied to the rear wheel and when the rotational force is removed the interconnecting means will continue to rotate the rear wheel in response to the inertia of the energized flywheel. An articulated rider, mounted to the seat of the bicycle, includes hands rotatably attached to handlebars and feet attached to pedals of the bicycle. When the bicycle is in motion, the articulated rider appears to pedal and operate the bicycle. The bicycle also includes a charger that engages and rotates the rear wheel of the bicycle and as such, energizes the flywheel.
