  • Publication number: 20150130307
Abstract: An outer rotor motor or generator is provided. The motor or generator includes a stator and a rotor rotatable about an axis. The rotor includes a stamped rotor can and an inertia ring. The stamped rotor can includes a generally radially extending base and a generally axially extending sidewall extending from the base to present radially innermost and radially outermost faces. The inertia ring at least in part overlies at least one of the radially innermost and radially outermost faces. The inertia ring is fixed to the rotor can to rotate therewith. The inertia ring is configured to increase the rotational inertia of the rotor about the axis.

  • Publication number: 20130343905
Abstract: A pump motor assembly operable to provide driving power to a fluid pump includes a rotor, a stator, a case housing the rotor and the stator, and a control assembly mounted to the case and operable to control motor operation. The control assembly includes an information display and a cover overlying the display, with a window section in general alignment with the display. The control assembly also includes a filler plate underlying the window section to prevent any air gap along an underside thereof, allowing the display to be visible while reducing the risk of condensation buildup. The control assembly further includes a low voltage housing with the display disposed in a first compartment defined thereby, and a high voltage housing with a high voltage component disposed in a second compartment defined thereby.

  • Patent number: 7550886
Abstract: A motor end bell assembly includes an end bell having an opening in a face of the end bell for accessing terminals of the motor. An additional aperture in the end bell facilitates passage of a power cord through the end bell. A cover at least partially closes the opening and is formed as a single piece of material. The cover includes a tab for at least partially closing the aperture.

  • Patent number: 5602436
Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine of the present invention includes a stator, a rotor journaled with respect to the stator, and a rotor shaft having a longitudinal axis extending axially from said rotor. An auxiliary winding and a starting switch operable to de-energize said auxiliary winding upon the motor obtaining a predetermined speed is provided. A centrifugal actuator is mounted on the rotor shaft to actuate the starter switch to de-energize the starter windings when the rotor obtains a predetermined speed. The rotor shaft has a single wide groove formed thereon and the actuator has a sleeve which is journaled on the rotor shaft. The sleeve has an inwardly directed projection sized and shaped to fit in the shaft groove. The sleeve projection and shaft groove interact such that the actuator sleeve cannot be moved relative to the shaft and the switch without a great deal of force.

  • Patent number: 4979719
Abstract: A motor base clamp for clamping motors or the like to a supporting base is disclosed. The motor base clamp includes a pair of mirror image elongated clamping elements attached at one end to the supporting base and configured to surround the motor or the like. The free ends of the clamping elements are associated with a fastener that secures and tightens the clamping elements together in the vicinity of the free ends of the elements so as to clamp a motor or the like to the supporting base. At least one of the fastener or the free ends of the clamping elements are configured to equally distribute the load of the fastener to the free ends of the clamping elements when secured and tightened together.
