Jeffrey Spencer has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 7005512
Abstract: The present invention discloses new muscle ring finger (MURF) proteins designate MURF-1, MURF-2 and MURF-3. The genes encoding these MURFs also are provided. MURFs interact with microtubules and thus play a role in cytoskeletal function, mitosis and cell growth. Thus, the uses of MURFs in diagnosis, treatment and drug screening, in particular relation to cardiomyopathies, are described.

  • Publication number: 20050224519
Abstract: Pump dispensers are specially adapted for inverted use. One feature, especially useful in a foam dispenser having both an air cylinder (5) and a liquid cylinder (6) with respective pistons, is an intake conduit arrangement to increase the clearance of liquid from the container. An intermediate shell (7) fits over the upright liquid cylinder body (6) and carries an inlet valve (73) positively urged upwardly to the closed position, to prevent leaking. A conduit shell (8) fits over the intermediate shell (7) and creates an intake conduit (85) extending down the side of the liquid cylinder to an intake opening (81) lower down the pump body.

  • Publication number: 20050178804
Abstract: A dispenser for paste material such as gels and creams as typically used in pharmaceuticals, personal care and food products, having a discharge channel (31) consisting essentially of resilient elastomeric tube (3), with an inlet end connected to receive material from the paste material container (1,101,201,301) and an outlet end terminating in a tip with a slit-opening e.g. a duckbill valve (33,333,433). An actuating element (5,7,8,9,9?,405) is mounted in the container behind the elastomeric tube (3), movable in a dispensing stroke laterally relative to the tube (3), and includes a blocking portion (53,253,83,93,93?) towards the inlet end of the tube (3) which moves laterally in advance of a compression region (55,255,85,95,95?) to block the tube (3) wholly or partly by squeezing it. The compression region (55,255,85,95,95?) then presses along the side of the tube (3) and squeezes material from the outlet end (36,136,336,436,5381).

  • Publication number: 20050115984
Abstract: A pump dispenser suitable for dispensing toothpaste in which a pump chamber has a resiliently flexible flap outlet valve leading into a discharge passage leading to a discharge nozzle. The discharge nozzle features a closure valve, in the form of a concave wall with radial slits, which opens only under appreciable forward pressure. When released, the closure valve closes and retracts forcibly, giving a clean cut-off of product and a degree of backflow via the large outlet valve area of the flap valve as it closes.

  • Publication number: 20020054029
Abstract: A method for providing information via an interactive display system includes activating the system when inputting a command by touching an interactive display screen. The command is transmitted to a remote client computer via a KVM extender. The client computer processes the input command and generates and sends a data request to a server computer associated with the database via a computer network. The database is searched for data corresponding to the data request, and any dynamic data is compiled and formatted into a template-based dynamic web page. Any dynamic graphic layouts are also incorporated. The retrieved data corresponding to the data request is transmitted from the client computer to the interactive display screen via the KVM extender, where it is displayed in a user-friendly web page format. The system can be easily updated by modifying data using customized database forms accessed through the server computer.

  • Patent number: 5686708
Abstract: A fuse shield plate is pivotally mounted over the fuses which are electrically associated with a disconnect switch. The switch operating lever is connected to an interlock rod which extends to a dead front receptacle. Interfitting elements on the fuse shield and the interlock rod prevent the fuse shield from being opened when the operating lever has been moved to close the switch contacts. When the fuse shield is opened to expose the fuses, the interfitting elements prevent the operating lever from being moved to close the switch contacts.

  • Patent number: 5670763
Abstract: An actuator shaft has an external end mounting a handle adjacent the dead front receptacle and an internal end contained within the fixture housing. An actuator arm is mounted on the inner end of the actuator shaft. A spring urges the actuator shaft in a first rotary direction from a first position to a second position. When the actuator shaft is in its first position, the actuator arm is in an interfering relationship with an interlock rod thus preventing the disconnect switch from being turned on. A slider has one end thereof projecting into the cylindrical opening of the dead front receptacle. The other end of the slider includes an opening receiving the actuator shaft in the vicinity of a first slot; the slider opening defines cam follower formations engageable with a planar surface defined by the first slot. Insertion of a plug causes the slider to move such that the actuator or shaft may rotate under the influence of the spring from its first position to its second position.
