  • Publication number: 20050216830
Abstract: An access tool to facilitate exchange of data to and from an end-user application to one or more corporate data files without the end-user's direct use of the corporate data tool used to create and maintain the corporate data files. The process works without the need of the end-user to be familiar with the particular corporate data tool (such as SQL) or how to connect to the one or more corporate data files (such as a database). An end-user document template with one or more variable tags is used as a placeholder for a set of one or more queries that are executed against one or more the corporate data files (such as one or more databases). After execution of the one or more queries against the one or more corporate data files, the values obtained from the queries are formatted and placed back into the template document in place of the corresponding variable tags.

  • Patent number: 6950653
Abstract: A land mobile radio dispatch system is provided, which comprises a radio, one or more remote dispatch devices, and a scanning tone remote adapter connected to the radio and the remote dispatch devices, and is adapted to receive tonal signals from the remote dispatch devices. The dispatch system provides scanning of RF channels, control from remote locations, and parallel updating of multiple dispatch devices, including changing the channel or the base station and notifying other dispatch devices of the current channel-in-use. The tonal signals indicate either an action taken, or an action desired to be taken by the remote dispatch devices. The scanning tone remote adapter is further adapted to transmit received tonal signals to remote dispatch devices, which can indicate the status of the radio, or requested commands by other remote dispatch devices.

  • Publication number: 20050060494
Abstract: A method of writing to cache including initiating a write operation to a cache. In a first operational mode, the presence or absence of a write miss is detected and if a write miss is absent, writing data to the cache and if a write miss is present, retrieving the data from a further memory and writing the data to the cache based on least recently used logic. In a second operational mode, the cache is placed in a memory mode and the data is written to the cache based on an address regardless of whether a write miss is present or absent.

  • Patent number: 6341423
Abstract: A multi-purpose tool including a plurality of tools useful to have available in an automobile, such as a flashlight, a tire pressure gauge, a scraper, and a fuse puller. The scraper preferably is pivotably mounted to a handle of the multi-purpose tool in a manner which permits the scraper to be positioned substantially perpendicular to the tool handles to permit scraping force to be applied to the scraper in an efficient manner. The multi-purpose tool preferably also includes a tool with pivotable jaws, such as a pair of foldable pliers, as well as a variety of pivotably mounted tools such as a cutting blade, a screwdriver, and a cap lifter. The tool preferably has two handles, each handle having storage channels for the tools coupled thereto. The tool jaws are pivotably mounted to the handles for selective movement between a storage position in the handles and a working position in which the jaws work together.

  • Publication number: 20010034910
Abstract: A multiple function combination tool combines a plurality of implements in a single compact and reduced configuration for many diverse needs. An overmold is provided over at least a portion of at least one of the scales (gripping sides) of the tool. The overmold imparts to such scale different properties from those provided by the scale, such as enhanced tactile comfort, a softer feel, higher coefficient of friction (anti-slip), and/or greater aesthetic appeal.

  • Patent number: 4560215
Abstract: A computer desk may be utilized with computer keyboard terminal equipment or other devices requiring manual manipulation by a user. The desk permits the efficient support of such devices without sacrifice of the desk top working surface available to the user. The computer desk provides a support surface immediately below the work surface on the desk top. This support surface extends toward the desk-user a greater distance than does the desk top work surface. Thus, there is no interference between the desk top work surface and the user's access to equipment emplaced upon the support surface. An extension of the support surface to the side provides additional support areas for associated computer devices or the like without sacrifice of desk top work surface area. Storage areas beneath the desk top work surface and the support surface are provided to store materials and devices of use to a user of the computer desk.
