  • Publication number: 20040148346
Abstract: A computer implemented method enables perception of multiple online personas in an instant messaging communications session by identifying at least two identities within a communications environment to whom messages may be directed, and by enabling a first persona of a user to be projected to a first of the identities while concurrently enabling a second persona of the same user to be projected to a second of the identities.

  • Patent number: 5964033
Abstract: A tissue nipper is provided to permit efficient trimming of tissue, such as cuticles. The nipper includes a base, arms projecting unitarily from the base and cutting blades at the ends of the arms remote from the base. Portions of the arms near the cutting blades are provided with oppositely directed projections that are slidably receivable in grooves of the opposing arm. The projections and grooves guide the cutting blades precisely into opposed edge-to-edge relationship for efficiently nipping tissue.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 20, 1998
Date of Patent: October 12, 1999

  • Patent number: 5711075
Abstract: A tissue nipper is provided to permit efficient trimming of tissue, such as cuticles. The nipper is unitarily molded from plastic and includes a base, arms projecting unitarily from the base and cutting blades at the ends of the arms remote from the base. Portions of the arms near the cutting blades are provided with oppositely directed projections that are slidably receivable in grooves of the opposing arm. The projections and grooves guide cutting blades precisely into opposed relationship for efficiently nipping tissue.

  • Patent number: 4872365
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly (10) of the type for transmitting forces along a curved path by a flexible motion transmitting core element (14) including a conduit (12) for slideably supporting the core element (14). An actuator assembly (18) including a handle (26) fixedly secured to a cable gear (24) engages a first core element (14) and imparts movement thereto. The first core element (14) has a first slug (58) fixedly secured on the end thereof. The first slug (58) is slideably retained in a passageway (60) defined by a sleeve (56), defining a first lost motion connection between the first core element (14) and the sleeve (56). A second core element (38) is provided for actuating a valve (36). The second core element (38) has a second slug (62) thereon and is slideably retained in the passageway (60) for providing a second lost motion connection between the second core element (38) and the sleeve ( 56).
