  • Publication number: 20140345175
Abstract: Three-dimensional affinity displays for removably attaching onto an exterior side surface of a vehicle are presented herein. The affinity display may include an outer shell that helps shield a base surface from wind drag and weather elements while driving, helping to ensure that the affinity display remains attached to the exterior side surface of the vehicle. The affinity display may include aerodynamic features, such as a dome shape, and a drain hole to prevent water from building up within the affinity display. The affinity display may also include a detachable strap to assist with stability, and a recess in the base surface for attaching the strap to the affinity display.

  • Patent number: 8709412
Abstract: A genetic locus and corresponding family of proteins associated with regulation of immune function and cell survival are provided. These genes encode cell surface molecules with conserved IgV and mucin domains. The locus comprising the TIM family is genetically associated with immune dysfunction, including asthma. Furthermore, the TIM gene family is located within a region of human chromosome 5 that is commonly deleted in malignancies and myelodysplastic syndrome. Polymorphisms in the gene sequences are associated with the development of airway hyperreactivity and allergic inflammation, and T cell production of IL-4 and IL-13. The proteins include the human hepatitis A cellular receptor, hHAVcr-1.

  • Patent number: 8560482
Abstract: A virtual technical networking architecture is disclosed that allows a user to locate resources, seek expertise and collaborate with identified experts located within a virtual city in order to mentor, teach and resolve problems or fill a need. The virtual city offers a gaming technology environment to users, wherein the users and experts are depicted as avatars within the virtual city and different levels of expertise and different affiliations are identified by different avatar accessories. The virtual city connects users for learning and problem resolution and also recognizes the accomplishments of experts and memorializes these accomplishments in the virtual city. Accordingly, an entire city of experts in a wide variety of fields can be built, that brings large groups of people and resources together for intellectual capital and knowledge management. The virtual city can then be used to educate, train and disseminate information.

  • Publication number: 20130046374
Abstract: A drug delivery device comprising an intraluminal stent for improving coronary luminal diameter of small vessels in patients with symptomatic heart disease is disclosed. The intraluminal stent comprises struts having a thickness of less than approximately 110 ?m. A polymer is adhered to the intraluminal stent that includes from about 50 ?g/cm2 to about 150 ?g/cm2 of everolimus therein. Quantitative coronary angiography measurements indicate that the drug delivery device provides an in-stent late loss of less than about 0.20 mm and an in-stent diameter stenosis of less than about 15% at 12 months following implantation in a human.

  • Patent number: 7838220
Abstract: A genetic locus and corresponding family of proteins associated with regulation of immune development, function, and cell survival are provided. The locus comprising the TIM family is genetically associated with immune dysfunction, including atopy, autoimmunity, inflammatory bowel disease, dysplasia, and susceptibility to blood-bourne infectious diseases. Polymorphisms in the human TIM-1 gene and exposure to Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) are shown to be associated with protection from the development of atopy.

  • Patent number: 7340483
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method, and computer readable medium for retrieving full media resources in an online environment by manipulating media resource summaries. Media resource summary copy requests are intercepted and instructions to retrieve a corresponding full media resource substituted. The full media resource, rather than the summary, is placed on a computer clipboard, which allows the full media resource to be inserted by a software application into a document. In varied aspects of the present invention, the types of copy events that may be intercepted include keystroke events, copy events, menu copy events, and “drag and drop” copy events.
