  • Patent number: 9292254
Abstract: A system, method and computer program for performing voice commands on a mobile device and presenting the results on an interactive timeline is disclosed. A user may utter a voice command into the microphone of their mobile device while an application is running. The voice command is processed to derive the intention of the user, specifically by determining the domain, at least one task and at least one parameter for the task from the voice command. A services component performs the task identified and presents the results on the mobile device screen. In various embodiments, the results are presented on a timeline and may be grouped together by domains and sorted by the time that the results were obtained. A search history view may also be viewed that includes search results sorted chronologically each of which is represented graphically by an icon that represents the category of each search.

  • Publication number: 20150346987
Abstract: Some implementations provide automatic display mode selection for a device, such as a mobile display device, according to a hierarchy of criteria. Each display mode may correspond with a set of display parameter settings, which may include a color depth setting, a brightness setting, etc. In some examples, one of the criteria may correspond with a software application being executed on the device. Some implementations involve creating a display device user profile and controlling a display of a mobile display device according to the user profile. The user profile may be built gradually over some number of days/weeks/months after the first use of the device. In some implementations, display parameter setting information or other device setting information corresponding to data in a user profile, including but not limited to demographic data, may be received by a mobile display device from another device, such as a server.

  • Publication number: 20150310794
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for calibrating and adjusting the white point of a display. The techniques for calibrating and adjusting the white point of a display may receive data indicative of a target color temperature for a white point of a display, and provide one or more user interface components that allow a user to select between multiple different candidate white points where each of the of the candidate white points has a correlated color temperature that corresponds to the target color temperature Different target white points for a display may exhibit different levels of luminance loss and/or tint. The techniques for calibrating and adjusting the white point of a display may allow a user to evaluate the trade-off between the luminance loss characteristics and/or tint characteristics of different white points.

  • Publication number: 20150082245
Abstract: A VCI (visual context indicator) color is assigned deterministically and proactively at runtime to user data contexts, and is not stored in the database, spreadsheet, or other context. VCI colors can be high contrast friendly colors. The same color is assigned to a given context each time the application runs unless the context's identifying property has changed. Color assignments are not made by users or by the application's designer, but are done instead by hashing from a context's identifying property into a VCI color palette containing, e.g., eight to sixteen colors. Unlike text-selection coloring, VCI coloring is based on the user data context's identifying property. The color assignment visually indicates context by displaying the context's name in the VCI color, or by displaying a graphical element in the VCI color near the context name. VCI color assignment also shows the occurrence and result of changes in user data context.
