A preparation method of a lithium-titanium complex oxide according to the present invention comprises the steps of: preparing a slurry mixture in which a titanium oxide, lithium and zirconium are mixed; wet-milling the mixture using beads having a size of 0.30 mm or less to obtain a wet-milled mixture; spray drying the wet-milled mixture to obtain a spray dried mixture; and calcining the spray dried mixture.

A lithium titanium composite oxide including aluminum-coated primary particles according to an embodiment is manufactured by coating lithium titanium oxide primary particles with aluminum by mixing an aluminum compound with re-pulverized particles and then by spray-drying the mixture again to prepare secondary particles. A battery including the lithium titanium composite oxide including the aluminum-coated primary particles exhibits effects of suppressing electrolyte decomposition and gas generation that may be respectively caused by titanium ions and residual lithium in conventional lithium titanium composite oxides.
