  • Publication number: 20170077777
Abstract: A totally enclosed motor is provided that includes a housing which forms a motor space for the motor and a motor unit that has a rotor, a stator, and a rotor shaft. Additionally, a position sensor unit is configured to measure an angular position of the rotor. The motor space is air-tightly split to form a first space that encloses the motor unit and a second space that encloses the position sensor unit.

  • Patent number: 9584058
Abstract: A system and method are provided for estimating temperature of a rotor of a motor configured to calculate temperature of the rotor using an actual measured data-based thermal model (thermal impedance model) and an energy loss model, and to estimate temperature of the rotor using the calculated temperature variation of the rotor. The method includes calculating, by a controller, an energy loss of the motor using driving conditions of the motor. The controller is also configured to calculate a temperature variation of the rotor in a predetermined reference temperature using the calculated energy loss and thermal resistances of the rotor and a stator of the motor. Further, the controller is configured to estimate a rotor temperature in the predetermined reference temperature using the temperature variation of the rotor.

  • Publication number: 20150171400
Abstract: A battery module including a plurality of battery cells each including a terminal portion on one surface thereof, and each having a resistance, the plurality of battery cells being aligned in one direction, and the plurality of battery cells including a battery cell having a first resistance and a battery cell having a second resistance, the second resistance being different from the first resistance, and a busbar that connects terminal portions of the plurality of battery cells. The busbar includes a first busbar and a second busbar, the second busbar having a material or a thickness different from a material of the first busbar. The first busbar is connected to the terminal portion of the battery cell having the first resistance, and the second busbar is connected to the terminal portion of the battery cell having the second resistance.

  • Patent number: 9007005
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method of controlling an inverter to reduce noise in an eco-friendly vehicle. In the method, at least one of a current motor torque and a current motor speed is monitored in real-time. It is determined whether or not the at least one of the current motor torque and the current motor speed corresponds to a noise occurrence range set to a current switching frequency. A changed switching frequency value corresponding to the at least one of the current motor torque and the current motor speed is calculated when the at least one of the current motor torque and the current motor speed corresponds to the noise occurrence range. A PWM signal is generated using the changed switching frequency value to control an inverter.

  • Patent number: 7772791
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for controlling motor torque in a hybrid electric vehicle, which can reduce current control mapping time and simplify control algorithm by providing a torque control compensation logic against a change in temperature of a motor (interior permanent magnet synchronous motor) of the hybrid electric vehicle. The present method includes: forming a single current control map based on an engine room temperature; determining a motor operation range that requires temperature compensation according to motor load conditions such as speed and torque; obtaining an optimization formula for torque command compensation; determining a torque command compensation value using the optimization formula; generating a new torque command with the torque command compensation value and applying the new torque command to the single current control map; and applying to a motor a current for which a torque variation according to a temperature change is compensated.
