Abstract: Devices having a thin film or laminate structure comprising hafnium and/or zirconium oxy hydroxy compounds, and methods for making such devices, are disclosed. The hafnium and zirconium compounds can be doped, typically with other metals, such as lanthanum. Examples of electronic devices or components that can be made include, without limitation, insulators, transistors and capacitors. A method for patterning a device using the materials as positive or negative resists or as functional device components also is described. For example, a master plate for imprint lithography can be made. An embodiment of a method for making a device having a corrosion barrier also is described. Embodiments of an optical device comprising an optical substrate and coating also are described. Embodiments of a physical ruler also are disclosed, such as for accurately measuring dimensions using an electron microscope.

Abstract: The athletic game includes elements of soccer, hockey, and American football, to provide a relatively high scoring and exciting game including limited physical contact between players. The game is played in a manner generally similar to soccer, i.e. players other than the goalies are not allowed to touch the ball with their hands during play. However, multiple points are awarded for goals and the goal scoring team is allowed the opportunity to try for an additional point(s) after scoring a goal. Limited physical contact between players is also permitted in the present game. The game may be played upon a natural or artificial turf field having dimensions similar to that of a standard ice hockey rink, including protective barriers surrounding the field. Alternatively, other field dimensions and configurations may be used, as desired. The present athletic game also lends itself well to electronic and board game representations of the game.

Abstract: A film dispenser for a stretch wrapping apparatus is provided. The film dispenser includes a pre-stretch assembly having a top portion mounted to and extending downwardly from a drive plate of a roll carriage frame. The pre-stretch assembly includes two pre-stretch rollers having first ends connected to the roll carriage frame and second ends connected to one another. The pre-stretch rollers may be coated. The pre-stretch assembly further includes a cantilevered idle roller mounted to the drive plate and positioned between the pre-stretch rollers. A film path is defined by the space between the pre-stretch rollers and the idle roller. The film path is easily accessible via the bottom end of the pre-stretch assembly.
