Abstract: Methods and devices for subscription offerings are disclosed. The device determines a set of subscription-based applications stored on the device and for each of the subscription-based applications, determines a service type. The device then determines a first subscription service to offer the user of the device via a graphical user interface of the device. After receiving acceptance of the offer for the first subscription service from the user, the device automatically establishes a customer account for the first subscription service. Then, the device downloads a first subscription service application, generates login information for the customer account, and performs a login to the customer account with the login information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for redeeming digital files are disclosed. In particular, the systems and methods relate to localized sharing of digital files such that the digital file is degraded when the file is redeemed. The digital file can include a plurality of bits, and bits of the digital file can be removed upon each transfer and/or access of the digital file. When a quantity of bits in the digital file falls below a predetermined threshold, the digital file can be deactivated. The systems can include an application that degrade the digital file. The degradation can include file compression, bitrate reduction, and/or removal of parity bits from the digital file. Security measures, such as private/public encryption keys, are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to detecting fraudulent activity on a user account based at least in part on a dynamic fraudulent user blacklist. The fraudulent activity may be identified based on a similarity of forensic profiling across multiple user accounts, for example, fraudulent activity occurring by the same fraudster or perpetrator may have a similar or identical fraudulent pattern across the multiple user accounts. By identifying the fraudulent user patterns associated the same fraudster and dynamically updating a blacklist to include these fraudulent user patterns, the same types of attacks may be prevented on the other existing user accounts.

Abstract: Techniques for protecting passwords and/or password entry by a user are provided. User identification data for a user can be received from a remote computing device. An identity of the user can be determined based on the user identification data. A password for the user can be determined. A modified keyboard configuration associated with the user can be determined. A request can be transmitted to the remote computing device for the password for the user based on the modified keyboard configuration. A modified password from the remote computing device can be received. A converted password based on the modified password and the modified keyboard configuration can be determined. The converted password can be compared to the password for the user. The user can be authorized when the converted password matches the password for the user.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments may provide an approach to converting multidimensional color data for an image encoded in a first color space into an intermediate form that is a single dimensional value. The exemplary embodiments may then decode the intermediate form value to produce an encoding of the color data that is encoded in a second color space that differs from the first color space. In this manner, the data for the image may be efficiently converted from an encoding in the first color space into an encoding in the second color space.

Abstract: Techniques to apply machine learning to schedule events of interest for a device user. As described herein, a typical device user is inundated with information suggesting activities and other things to do. Using these techniques, the information is categorized according to the activity and those activities that are most likely to be engaged in by the device user are recommended to the device user (via their device) as events of interest. If the device user selects an event of interest, the device is updated to reflect that selection. For instance, a calendar application may be updated to include an event description at the event's date and time. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

The matrix barcode may include a plurality of colors, where at least one of the plurality of colors is a least prevalent color, of a plurality of prevalent colors in the environment.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides computing systems and techniques for validating a decision model against a cannon of regulation. A server can deconstruct a decision model into a number of branching decisions and also generate a Markov chain comprising a number of sequences from a cannon of regulation. The server can compare the branching decisions to the sequences and can validate the decision model with the cannon of regulation based on the comparison.

Abstract: Techniques to improve operation of an augmented reality device and/or system utilizing fiducial markers and/or color space conversions are provided. In various embodiments, a color space of an object is altered based on a movement of the object in relation to an environment. The environment may include two or more segments with a distinct environment color space in relation to one another. The object may transition from one of the two or more environment segments into the other one of the two or more segments. The alteration is based on the transition from the color space of the one of the two or more environment segments into the other one of the two or more environment segments.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improved conversation translation are disclosed. The system receives a first portion of a conversation in a first language. The system translates the first portion of the conversation to a second language. The system generates a predicted second portion of the conversation. The first portion and the predicted second portion are sent to a second user device as a predictive translation. The system then receives an actual second portion of the conversation, translates it to the second language, and sends the first portion and the actual second portion to the second user device as a batch translation. The system compares the batch translation to the predictive translation to identity any differences and generates a color-coded translation highlighting any differences between the batch translation and the predictive translation. The system sends the color-coded translation to the second user device for display on the second user device.

Abstract: Techniques to enable a chat bot system to use metaphors during an interaction with a user are provided. Identification information for the user can be received and can be used to determine a customer group assigned to the user. An initial state of a sequence for resolving an issue of the user can be determined, with the sequence for resolving the issue of the user including a final state wherein the issue of the user is resolved. A metaphor can be selected to include in a question based on the determined customer group assigned to the customer and the determined initial state of the sequence for resolving the issue of the customer. The question can request information from the user relating to the issue of the user. The question can be generated to include the selected metaphor and then provided to the user with a prompt to provide a response.

Abstract: This disclosure describes processes for using a single cellulosic feedstock or a combination of two or more different cellulosic feedstocks with a starch component to produce a fermented product. The process includes separating the components of the cellulosic feedstocks with fractionation, pretreating a component with wet fractionation with chemicals, hydrolysis and fermentation of the pretreated feedstock(s) to produce cellulosic biofuel. The process may include combining the cellulosic feedstock(s) with other components to a cook and/or a fermentation process, distilling and dehydrating the combined components to produce the bio fuel. The process may also include producing a whole stillage stream from the feedstock(s) and mechanically processing the whole stillage stream to produce a high-value protein animal feed.

The method includes receiving a first legal clause, generating, using a segmentation algorithm, a first hidden Markov chain comprising a plurality of first nodes based on the first legal clause, each of the plurality of first nodes corresponding to an element of the first legal clause, generating, using the segmentation algorithm, a second hidden Markov chain comprising a plurality of second nodes based on the second legal clause, each of the plurality of second nodes corresponding to an element of the second legal clause, comparing each of the plurality of first nodes with each of the plurality of second nodes to identify a difference for each of the plurality of first nodes, determine, based on the comparison, whether the difference for each of the plurality of first nodes exceeds a predetermined difference threshold.

Abstract: Techniques for providing a localized blockchain that uses a mesh network to facilitate transactions for a localized event are provided. An electronic device can receive data from a localized mesh network to establish the device as a node on the localized mesh network. The established node can generate a cryptocurrency wallet that can be loaded with an initial amount of localized cryptocurrency tokens from a total amount of localized cryptocurrency tokens. The total amount of localized cryptocurrency tokens can be previously mined by a central authority of the localized mesh network. The established node can conduct transactions within the localized mesh network utilizing the localized cryptocurrency tokens. The established node can receive a portion of a cryptocurrency token for transmitting transactional data to a next nearest node on the localized mesh network to help facilitate a transaction involving other nodes on the network.

Abstract: Techniques to improve detection and security of images, including formation and detection of matrix-based images. Some techniques include logic to process image data, generate one or more colorspaces associated with that data, and perform colorspace conversions based on the generated colorspace. The logic may be further configured to generate an image based on the colorspace conversions, including but not limited to a matrix bar code. The logic may be further configured to apply one or both of an ultraviolet layer and an infrared layer to the image, e.g. matrix barcode, generated from the colorspace conversion(s). Abstract: Methods and systems for managing access to smart devices. One aspect is a method for providing access to at least one smart device, the method comprising identifying the at least one smart device that is in data communication with a smart device hub, storing user level access permissions including a global user level, communicating with a user device, the user device being associated with a stored user level access permission, the global user level allowing the user device to remotely connect to the smart device hub, determining the user level access permission for the user device, determining whether the user device has permission to access the at least one smart device based on the user level access permission, wherein to access the at least one smart device requires the global user level, and providing access to the at least one smart device to the user device.

Abstract: A system may include processor(s), and memory in communication with the processor(s) and storing instructions configured to cause the system to orient webpage content based on user attention. The system may determine a user has navigated to a webpage. The system may generate an attention level based on received user feature(s) associated with activity of the user on the webpage. Responsive to determining the attention level exceeds a predetermined threshold, the system may identify a duration associated with the attention level, transmit an offer to one or more entities to submit predetermined content based on the duration, receive predetermined content from the one or more entities, identify, based on a predetermined amount of predetermined content space, selected content of the received predetermined content for placement on the webpage, and cause a GUI of the user device to display the selected content.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for creating and utilizing multidimensional embedding spaces for data objects, such as to condition the data for input to a neural network, for instance. Some embodiments are particularly directed to detecting data types for structured data based on learned metadata. In many embodiments, an embedding space for a set of data objects may be customized with a set of dimensions that correspond to various characteristics of the set of data objects. For example, a set of data objects may correspond to a table with each data object corresponding to a data entry in the table. In such examples, correlations between different columns and/or within a column of data may be identified and utilized as metadata to improve classifications by the neural network.
