  • Patent number: 11971619
Abstract: A lighting system and method controls light to prioritize different elements of the beam of light that is output by a fixture. The LCD surface acts as a color occlusion filter that provides pixel level control of the beam of light transmitted by this layer. Internally an LED source is projected perpendicular to concave type reflector which can be moved on one axis and thus zoom to either widen or narrow the light emitted forward as a beam of light. The system also includes certain cooling features.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 9, 2022
Date of Patent: April 30, 2024
    Assignee: Sandbox Light Engineering Corporation
Inventors: Christopher D. Ewington, Matthew E. Ward, Jeremy Hochman
  • Publication number: 20240135899
Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods for off-axis color correction in dynamic image capture of video wall displays involve measuring color performance of specific LED tiles or video walls and providing a database to store the characteristics of these off-axis measurements for use in color correction. The database is accessible by a color correction engine associated directly or indirectly with the video rendering engine so that when combined with real-time information on camera view angle and field of view relative to the display, a color correction function can be incorporated into the rendering of the display portion within the field of view of the camera so as to reduce or eliminate off-axis color variations/distortions in the captured image.

  • Patent number: 10356377
Abstract: Various embodiments relate to an apparatus for controlling a lighting device. A light control circuit can use a controlled lighting sequence control and drive viewed sections of a lighting device to display chroma key color or emit infrared light, while driving other unviewed portions of the lighting device to display ambient and incident lighting. The viewed and unviewed lighting sections can be based on the field of vision of an image capture device and can change in relation to movements of the image capture device. A sensor can make measurements to determine to field of vision of the image capture device and can be used to generate or modify the controlled lighting sequence. An image processing circuit can generate a composite image using the chroma key while maintaining the subjects that are captured using ambient and incident lighting.
