  • Publication number: 20130226335
Abstract: An automated cassette-to-cassette substrate handling system includes a cassette storage module for storing a plurality of substrates in cassettes before and after processing. A substrate carrier storage module stores a plurality of substrate carriers. A substrate carrier loading/unloading module loads substrates from the cassette storage module onto the plurality of substrate carriers and unloads substrates from the plurality of substrate carriers to the cassette storage module. A transport mechanism transports the plurality of substrates between the cassette storage module and the plurality of substrate carriers and transports the plurality of substrate carriers between the substrate carrier loading/unloading module and a processing chamber. A vision system recognizes recesses in the plurality of substrate carriers corresponding to empty substrate positions in the substrate carrier.

  • Publication number: 20130199778
Abstract: A method and apparatus to mitigate water loading in wellbores to increase oil and gas production and/or extend the life of the well. Beginning with a production wellbore through a subterranean formation used to extract hydrocarbons from a reservoir, a water draw-off wellbore, through the subterranean formation on a low-side of the production wellbore, is created to direct water to a non-producing formation. Fluids are produced through the production wellbore at a rate sufficient to lift the fluids to at least an entrance of the draw-off wellbore and allow the water to separate from the hydrocarbons due to gravity. The separated water is directed through the draw-off wellbore to the non-producing formation. Configurations of dual and multi-lateral production and draw-off wellbore arrangements are presented.

  • Patent number: 8127833
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for harvesting energy while moving a tool through a well are shown and described. The harvested energy can be used by the tool to perform work once it reaches an intended location in the well, or along the way. A considerable amount of potential energy is typically lost by oilfield tools as they move down through a borehole. Methods and apparatus described herein recover and/or store some of the energy during the downward movement of the tool.
