  • Publication number: 20080183592
Abstract: A method of creating an aggregated Internet accessible registry includes the step of accepting a query from a registrant. The query contains an identifier and a search criteria, the identifier identifying one of a multitude of registry databases. Registries matching the search criteria in the selected registry database are retrieved. When the registrant selects one of the matching registries, a general user identifier that uniquely identifies the registrant is associated with the registry. Additional queries and registry selection completes the aggregation registry process. The aggregated registry is managed on-line by the registrants and accessed by guests. The aggregated registry provides a framework that allows automated updates by registry database provides without loss of the identity of an aggregated registry.

  • Publication number: 20080174501
Abstract: A quadrifilar antenna having helical windings is fed by a phase shift feed network, each winding having an open circuit termination element, the phase shift feeding network having forward directional phase shift paths from a feed input to phase shift feed output ports, and having a first reverse directional transmission path from one or more of the phase shift feed output ports back to a first isolation port, and a second reverse directional transmission path from another one or more of the phase shift feed output ports back to a second isolation port, the first and second isolation ports isolated from the forward directional phase shift paths, and a differential termination impedance, floating from ground, connected the first and second isolation ports. Optionally, the differential termination impedance is frequency selective.

  • Patent number: 7379881
Abstract: A system and method for recording the evidence of intent of a party to a transaction, archiving this speech recording, and notifying and making it available to interested parties. A party seeking an affirmation will send to the affirming party a communication outlining the terms of the affirmation to be made, and also a transaction identifier by which a system may identify the parties to the transaction. The affirming party communicates with the system. The affirming party communicates the transaction identifier, and subsequently recites a spoken affirmation which is recorded by the system. The system then stores the recording in association with a recording identifier which can be used later to retrieve the recording. Finally, the system communicates the recording identifier both to the affirming party and to the party requesting the affirmation. The requesting party is thus informed that the affirmation has been made.

  • Patent number: 7106845
Abstract: Rather than employing simple static personal identification numbers (PINs) that are susceptible to hacking, the disclosed security system provides multiple levels of security that may be selected by a user, based on his or her particular level of sensitivity at any given time or with respect to any given data. One level employs an algorithm that changes values, where the algorithm is known by the user. For example, the algorithm may be a series of digits based on the following: hour of day, day of week, quarter of the year, a.m. or p.m., day of the month, and month of the year. If the user knows the order of such, the user can readily generate the appropriate numeric code corresponding to the current time, and since the time continually changes, the code necessarily changes likewise. Another level sends a random part to a user, such as over their pager or phone, which they append to some user-defined, fixed portion of their PIN, or used in addition to their PIN.

  • Patent number: 6840135
Abstract: A safety handlebar is described in which telescopic handgrips are provided at the two opposing outer ends of the tubular frame of the handlebar. In each embodiment described, a shaft and an outer cover are locked together for telescopic movement on each tubular outer end of the handlebar frame. A bias member in the form of a coil spring biases the grip portion outward away from the tubular ends of the frame. A dampening mechanism is provided to retard the return of the grips to their original position after they have telescoped inward after impacting with the user. A hydraulic dampening system employing grease and an pneumatic system employing air are described.

  • Patent number: 6834565
Abstract: The present invention relates to a retrofit safety handlebar. A handlebar is modified to include a threaded portion on an exterior end thereof. The handlebar can be a conventional handlebar. The retrofit safety handlebar includes a threaded portion on an interior thereof. The retrofit safety handlebar can be threaded to the conventional handlebar. A bias member is associated with a shaft of the retrofit safety handlebar for biasing the shaft away from a frame. A dampener is associated with the shaft so as to dampen movement of the shaft toward the frame after impact of the retrofit safety handlebar with a rider. For example, the frame can be a bicycle frame or a frame for other forms of personal transportation and toys that are pushed or ridden.
