  • Patent number: 10127294
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for synchronizing application state information across devices. More specifically, embodiments of the disclosure are related to facilitating idempotency of application state information. Idempotency is maintained by using a timestamp embedded within application state information and/or by determining that the application state information is associated with an accumulating value.

  • Patent number: 10074115
Abstract: A subscription management service utilizes a timer service to maintain timers corresponding to subscription events. The subscription management service exposes an interface through which clients can define new subscriptions that are then created and managed by the subscription management service. The subscription management service can charge subscribers on an appropriate billing period, and cancel or automatically renew subscriptions at the end of a contract period. The subscription management service can also provide notifications to clients, to subscribers, and/or to other components. The subscription management service might also perform other types of actions with regard to the subscriptions on behalf of the clients. The timer service receives payloads from clients, such as the subscription management service, and provides the payloads back to the clients at a specified time. The timer service might also utilize a jitter threshold to compute the time at which payloads should be provided to clients.

  • Publication number: 20180240119
Abstract: An apparatus for identifying an end node bank account in a network of bank accounts for funds from a fraudulent transaction, comprising processing circuitry configured to: identify a node account into which funds from the fraudulent transaction are paid; determine the number of account relationships associated with the node account; and identify the node account as an end node bank account when the number of account relationships is above a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20180157343
Abstract: In various embodiments, a user frustration monitoring and control system may be part of or otherwise be operably coupled to a device to detect and respond to user frustration with the device or with other components in communication with the device. A user frustration monitoring and control system may detect when, out of frustration, a user jars or hits a set-top box or other device in communication with the set-top box, such as a remote-control device or monitor, and will perform an action to address the detected user frustration. This action may be, for example, performing a diagnostic action and/or communicating a helpful message or instructions to the user.

  • Publication number: 20170360623
Abstract: A sensor for monitoring wetness in a diaper or other absorbent article includes a housing that attaches to the absorbent article. The sensor may include inner and outer housing portions that capture an edge of the absorbent article between the housings. The sensor may include contacts that electrically connect with a pair of contact strips embedded in the absorbent article. The distance between the embedded strips may vary depending on the size of the absorbent article. The sensor may include multiple pairs of contacts that are spaced apart to match the distance between the contact strips for the variously sized absorbent articles. In this way, depending on the pair of contacts connected to the contact strips, the sensor may indicate the size of the absorbent article.

  • Publication number: 20170145856
Abstract: An air/oil separator for a gas turbine engine includes a drive shaft having a central axis extending in an axial direction, a free vortex chamber mounted radially around the drive shaft, a separation chamber coupled with the free vortex chamber in the axial direction opposite to the drive shaft, and a rotatable outlet shaft radially rotatable and having an inlet end coupled with the separation chamber opposite to the free vortex chamber, an outlet end, and a hollow interior chamber therebetween. The hollow interior chamber has an inner circumference extending in the axial direction a cylindrical air guide extending coaxially therein. The cylindrical air guide has a nonporous cylindrical main body, an upstream end fixedly coupled with the inlet end of the rotatable outlet shaft, and a downstream end coaxially disposed within the outlet end of the rotatable outlet shaft.
