  • Publication number: 20070153678
Abstract: A method for managing a broken node in a wireless personal area network (WPAN) game includes broadcasting alive check data for checking states of nodes from a master node having opened the WPAN game in a standby state of the WPAN game; receiving alive response data to the alive check data from the nodes; and having not received the alive response data from one of the nodes, determining that node as a broken node and broadcasting information as to the broken node to the other nodes. Other methods for managing a broken node in a WPAN game are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070060217
Abstract: A mobile communication terminal having a first body and a second body rotatably coupled by a hinge assembly, and a mode selector that sets an operation mode of the mobile communication terminal based on an angle between the first body and the second body. The mode selector includes a rotation part that enables the detection of an angle between the first body and the second body, and a setting part, movably mounted on the rotation part, which sets an operation mode of the mobile communication terminal corresponding to the detected angle when the setting part is moved into contact with a holding part.

  • Publication number: 20060182056
Abstract: A device and method for adaptively controlling a turn-on time of a transceiver so that power consumption is reduced. The device includes a transceiver for receiving a beacon frame broadcasted by a coordinator which coordinates devices, and a controller for determining whether a period of the beacon frame is changed by checking period information in the received beacon frame. The device further includes a beacon frame arrival-time estimation part for estimating an arrival-time of a next beacon frame to be received, based on the changed period information of the beacon frame, a time-error estimation part for estimating a time-errors of the coordinator and the device based on the changed period information of the beacon frame, and a turn-on time estimation part for estimating a turn-on time of a transceiver based on the estimated beacon frame arrival-time and the estimated time-errors.

  • Publication number: 20060104241
Abstract: A beacon scheduling method of a router by a coordinator in a network system that includes the coordinator and at least one router, includes receiving an allocation request signal of a time period in which a beacon of the router is transmitted; determining the time period to be allocated to the router based on information relating to a time period allocation state; and transmitting information relating to the determined time period to the router. The beacon slots can be efficiently allocated and managed when the ZR joins or leaves the network. Therefore, it is possible to effectively prevent the beacon collisions between ZRs over the network.

  • Publication number: 20050271057
Abstract: A method, medium, and system estimating a location of a node, whose location is unknown, in a communication system including both nodes having known locations and nodes having unknown locations. A first packet is transmitted and received between nodes having known locations, via a node having an unknown location to be estimated. A second packet, which contains a distance function coefficient acquired using first information and second information included in the received first packet, is transferred to the node having the unknown location to be estimated. The unknown location is then estimated using the received distance function coefficient.

  • Publication number: 20050159111
Abstract: In a communicating system including a base node, at least one adjacent node, and a start node transmitting data requested by the base node via the adjacent node or to the base node, data requested to the start node is transmitted by measuring a power required for data transmission between the nodes forming the communication system, selecting a path one by one depending on a minimum power consumption required for the data transmission from the base node to the start node using the measured power, and transmitting the requested data using the selected path.

  • Patent number: 6894624
Abstract: A passive transponder identification system and credit card type transponder are disclosed, particularly, the transponder identification system to utilize a transmitting manner of two different RF signals is provided. The present invention directly relates to a passive transponder without any kind of power source. Therefore, the present invention has advantages of having a constant gain value by developing a high-gain dual polarizing antenna for a small credit card type passive transponder to identify at long distance, independently to any direction of the transponder; improving gain values than conventional transponder tag antenna by 6-9 dB to ensure a sub-permanent life time by providing the desired identification performance by a small credit card type passive transponder without power supply; and being applicable to any systems to identify and distinguish high-speed moving objects.

  • Publication number: 20040039920
Abstract: The present invention is related to a security cabinet system for storing the main body of the PC, having 3-ways PC control system for entering users ID data with a keypad system on the container, in order to prevent any unauthorized access to the PC for transmitting or duplicating data, or disassembling PC to separate HDD data storage device, and having a means to control the ambient temperature in the PC container. This system perfectly protects the PC against any unauthorized access to operate the PC with various software means as well as attempts with hardware means to separate the HDD from the PC by any unauthorized persons together, and provides the user with the simplest solution to control the PC without opening the cabinet by using users ID data which users are always carrying with them by a form of a bank's card, a drive license, a fingerprint or a password.
