  • Patent number: 7555817
Abstract: A hinge with less abrasion has a central bracket, a first tilt hinge assembly, a second tilt hinge assembly and a rotating hinge assembly. The central bracket has a main arm, a first arm and a second arm. The main arm has annular recess formed on an inner surface of the main arm. The first arm has annular recess respectively formed on an inner surface and an outer surface of the first arm. The first and second tilt hinge assemblies connect respectively to the first and second arms. The rotating hinge assembly connects to the main arm. Because strength of a material is enhanced when the material is pressed, the annular recesses of the main and first arms enhance the strength of the main and first arms to reduce the abrasion between the central bracket and the hinge assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20090064847
Abstract: The present invention is a continuation-in-part of the inventor's prior invention (USPTO application Ser. No. 11/277,502 filed on 26 Mar. 2006), the added feature being a “Grand Staff reference marking” added to a row of the “staff of gray and white pitch stripes” of the prior invention, the said marking comprising one or more set of Grand Staff of five lines, the Grand Staff clef or clefs, with each Grand Staff line pointing or connected to a corresponding correct “white pitch stripe”. Such “Grand Staff reference marking” feature enables the precise identification of the pitch stripes relative to their corresponding keys on the piano keyboard, and in terms of pitch names commonly used by students of music theories. The pitch names of all other pitch stripes can be easily derived from its physical location in relation to those pitch stripes connected to or pointed to by the lines of the “Grand Staff reference marking”.

  • Patent number: 7494248
Abstract: A heat-dissipating structure for a LED lamp includes a heat-dissipating base, a heat-dissipating body and a plurality of heat pipes. The heat-dissipating body has an outer cylinder formed into a hollow cylinder. The inside surface of the outer cylinder is provided with a plurality of accommodating grooves. The condensed ends of the plurality of heat pipes are inserted into the accommodating grooves. The end to be heated of the heat pipe is adhered to the heat-dissipating base. Further, the inside surface and the outside surface of the outer cylinder are formed with a plurality of heat-dissipating fins made by aluminum extrusion, so that the heat pipes are encircled by the heat-dissipating fins. In this way, the heat can be conducted by the plurality of heat pipes so as to increase the total contacting area. Thus, the heat can be rapidly conducted to the outer cylinder.

  • Patent number: 7494249
Abstract: A multiple-set heat-dissipating structure for a LED lamp for performing the heat dissipation of the LED set includes a heat-conducting base, a plurality of heat pipes and a plurality of heat-dissipating bodies. On end face of the heat-conducting base is used for adhering to and contacting with the LED set. Each heat pipe has a heat-absorbing end and a heat-releasing end, respectively. The heat-absorbing end is connected to the other end face of the heat-conducting base. Each heat-dissipating body has a hollow cylinder. The outer periphery of the cylinder is formed with a plurality of radial heat-dissipating pieces and is connected on the heat-releasing end of each heat pipe. By dispersing each heat pipe and heat-dissipating body, the heat generated by the operation of the LED set can be conducted and dissipated by each heat pipe and heat-dissipating body at multiple points. In this way, the LED set can be continuously operated under a suitable working temperature and thus its life can be elongated.

  • Publication number: 20090038116
Abstract: A hinge assembly attaches a cover pivotally to a base of an electronic device and has a pivoting leaf and a stationary leaf. The pivoting leaf is mounted in the cover and has a shaft. The stationary leaf is mounted rotatably around the pivoting leaf, is mounted in the base to allow the cover to pivot relative to the base and has a barrel. The barrel is tightly mounted rotatably around the shaft and has a gudgeon and a slit. The gudgeon is formed coaxially through the barrel. The slit is formed longitudinally through the barrel and communicates with the gudgeon and allows the barrel to expand to fit the shaft. Having the barrel with the slit reduces the size of the hinge assembly so the hinge assembly allows electronic devices to be smaller and thinner.

  • Publication number: 20080271289
Abstract: A hinge assembly attaches a cover pivotally to a base of an electronic device such as a notebook computer and has a base bracket, a pintle and a cover bracket. The base bracket is attached to the base and has a gudgeon. The pintle is mounted securely in the gudgeon in the base bracket. The cover bracket is mounted tightly and rotatably around the pintle and securely on the cover of the electronic device, allows the cover to pivot on the base and has a through ring and a pivoting gudgeon. The through ring is mounted tightly around the pintle and has an open slot to prevent the through ring and the pintle from wearing. The pivoting gudgeon is slightly narrower than the through ring, fastens the pintle to position the cover and has an open slot to prevent the pivoting gudgeon and the pintle from wearing.

  • Publication number: 20080271293
Abstract: A transversely movable hinge has a central bracket and two tilt hinge assemblies and is mounted between a cover and a base of an electronic device to allow the cover to pivot and rotate relative to the base. Each tilt hinge assembly has a pivoting leaf with a mounting segment, a torque washer and a biasing assembly. The torque washer is rotated relative to the mounting segment and has at least one protrusion. The biasing assembly presses the torque washer so the protrusion rubs against the mounting segment to provide a larger force to hold the cover at any visual angle. Then even if the resilient force of the biasing assembly is reduced to allow the cover to be easily moved transversely relative to the base, the hinge can still provide enough holding force.

  • Publication number: 20080263827
Abstract: A pivotal-axis changing hinge has a stationary leaf, a pivoting leaf, a pintle assembly and a cam. The pivoting leaf and stationary leaf are respectively connected securely to a cover having a rear edge and a keyway and a base having an elongated gudgeon. A parabolic edge is formed at an edge near the elongated gudgeon. The pintle assembly is mounted through the keyway and pivotally through the elongated gudgeon to allow the leaves to pivot along a pivotal axis of the pintle assembly. The cam is mounted on the pintle assembly, rotates simultaneously with the pintle assembly and has a protrusion mounted slidably on the parabolic edge to move the pintle assembly and the cover perpendicularly away from the base when the cover is pivoting. Consequently, the proximal edge of the cover is kept from colliding with the base and the rotating angle of the cover is expanded.

  • Patent number: 7439438
Abstract: An improved musical notation system, which uses a staff patterned upon the standard piano keyboard. It replaces the Grand Staff's system of lines and spaces with a system of “pitch stripes” of two colors arranged in the same pattern as the black and white keys of the standard piano keyboard. Music scores, especially those for keyboard music, produced with the art are significantly easier to understand and sight-read. The art further incorporates positional numerical music notes to marry positional notation and numerical notation of music in the same musical score. The art further facilitates a method by which music scores of the same music in different keys can be obtained easily by moving all markings and notes collectively up or down the staff.

  • Patent number: 7430803
Abstract: A method and gas removing apparatus removes non-condensate gas from a heat pipe. The gas removing apparatus includes at least one heating unit, a sealing unit and a height-adjusting unit. The heating unit heats the heat pipe and includes a clip to clamp the heat pipe. The sealing unit is placed atop the heating unit and outside an opening of the heat pipe. The height-adjusting unit supports the heating unit and adjusts a height of the heating unit according to the length of the heat pipe, whereby the clip clamps on a lower portion of the heat pipe. During the removing operation of the non-condensate gas, the heating unit only heats a bottom portion of the heat pipe.
