    Abstract: A method is disclosed for synthesizing 2?,3?-didehydro-2?,3?-dideoxynucleosides (d4Ns) from a nucleophile-mediated elimination, such as a telluride-mediated elimination reaction. After substitution of 2,2?-anhydronucleosides with a nucleophile, such as a telluride monoanion, a telluride intermediate is formed, and its elimination leads to formation of the olefin products (d4Ns). This disclosure describes this telluride-assisted (or nucleophile-assisted) reaction and how to facilitate the substitution and elimination in order to form d4Ns.

    Abstract: A control system of resisting and assisting force for a rehabilitation apparatus includes a motor, a resistance adjustment control device and a motor output force control device. The motor drives the rotating wheels of the rehabilitation apparatus and controls the rotating wheels to produce resistance and power assisting force. The resistance is designed by imitating the frictional force of different road conditions. The motor output force control device gathers the resistance value preset by the resistance adjustment control device. and the force of a patient pushing or pedaling the rotating wheels and then controls the compensation and the output force of the motor to push the rotating wheels. When the resistance is adjusted to become increasingly larger and larger by the resistance adjustment device, the force of a patient's hands or legs will gradually increase and finally able to push or pedal the rotating wheels by himself.

    Abstract: A method of reducing the critical dimension (CD) of a hard mask by a wet etch method is described. An oxide hard mask is treated with a H2SO4/H2O2 (SPM) solution followed by treatment with a NH4OH/H2O2/H2O (APM) solution to trim the CD by 0 to 20 nm. With nitride or oxynitride hard masks, a buffered HF dip is inserted prior to the SPM treatment. For oxide hard masks, the SPM solution performs the etch while APM solution assists in removing plasma etch residues. With oxynitride hard masks, the APM performs the etch while BHF and SPM solutions remove plasma etch residues. The hard mask pattern can then be transferred with a dry etch into an underlying polysilicon layer to form a gate length of less than 150 nm while controlling the CD to within 3 to 5 nm of a targeted value.
