  • Patent number: 9558381
Abstract: A wireless scanner is described that performs a pairing operation with a wireless scanner base before commencing scanning operations in a wireless scanner network. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is used to achieve the pairing operation of the wireless scanner with the wireless scanner base by using an RFID tag associated with the wireless scanner base. The RFID tag in the wireless scanner base may contain pairing information such as a network address of the wireless scanner base for use in automatically establishing a wireless communication session with the wireless scanner base in accordance with another wireless protocol.

  • Patent number: 9485159
Abstract: Techniques are described for managing network services deployed in a network using a rules engine with on-demand dependency insertion. A network service manager may use a rules engine to monitor a network service at network devices in order to detect a device-level event, and determine a service-level impact of the detected event based on network service rules and dependencies. The dependencies define links between the device-level event and actions triggered by the device-level event. According to the techniques, a rules engine is configured to detect a device-level event and, in response, insert only those dependencies associated with the detected device-level event into a working memory. Once the device-level event has been cleared, the dependencies related to the device-level event are removed from the working memory. The working memory, therefore, will include only the dependencies needed to determine service-level impacts of currently detected device-level events.

  • Patent number: 9435043
Abstract: An Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) catalyst includes a metal oxide that includes oxygen, cerium, and one or more second metals. In some instances, the cerium is 10 to 80 molar % of the metals in the metal oxide and/or the catalyst includes two or more second metals. The OER catalyst can be included in or on an electrode. The electrode can be arranged in an oxygen evolution system such that the Oxygen Evolution Reaction occurs at the electrode.

  • Patent number: 9374651
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a sensitivity calibration method and an audio device. The method of the present invention includes determining whether a first signal captured in a current frame by a primary capture module is a circuit noise. When the first signal is not a circuit noise, if the first signal has a stationary noise characteristic, a first calibration gain is determined according to the first signal and a second signal captured in the current frame by a secondary capture module. The second signal is calibrated according to the first calibration gain, so that sensitivity of the primary capture module is consistent with sensitivity of the secondary capture module.

  • Publication number: 20160161398
Abstract: Devices, systems, kits, and methods for detecting and/or identifying a plurality of spectrally labeled bodies well-suited for performing multiplexed assays. By spectrally labeling the beads with materials which generate identifiable spectra, a plurality of beads may be identified within the fluid. • Patent number: 9292905
Abstract: The invention addresses the problem that traditional Total Variation only enforces the horizontal and vertical intensity continuity and thus fails to reconstruct oblique edges well. In an embodiment, Directional Total Variation is defined which supports multiple gradient directions. It first pre-processes the image and determines the direction of edges/texture; Directional TV is calculated based on the gradients along the determined direction and its orthogonal direction. By utilizing adaptive weights to different directions in the regularization, Directional TV is capable of preserving edges independent from their orientation nicely. Thus, Directional TV regularization based image denoising, compression or super resolution tend to obtain better quality.

  • Publication number: 20150212036
Abstract: Electrochemical or electrochemical and photochemical experiments are performed on a collection of samples by suspending a drop of electrolyte solution between an electrochemical experiment probe and one of the samples that serves as a test sample. During the electrochemical experiment, the electrolyte solution is added to the drop and an output solution is removed from the drop. The probe and collection of samples can be moved relative to one another so the probe can be scanned across the samples.

  • Patent number: 9053673
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for an intra-panel communication interface which, among other advantages, enhances system reliability and reduces bus width. A timing controller initializes communication with a plurality of source drivers by transmitting link data through a plurality of data channels and monitors source driver status through an auxiliary status channel. The plurality of source drivers share the auxiliary status channel to indicate their status. The timing controller transmits display data to a source driver through a data channel. The display data includes a request for status data from the source driver. The source driver transmits the requested status data to the timing controller via the auxiliary status channel.
