    Abstract: An electronic device may receive, from a radio node, a measurement configuration associated with a wireless communication system. In response, the electronic device may perform measurements using narrow beam patterns based at least in part on a network configuration, where the narrow beam patterns are narrower than a wide beam pattern of the electronic device. Furthermore, performing the measurements using the narrow beams pattern may include performing a beam-pattern search up to the network configuration. Then, the electronic device may perform an SCell activation procedure of an SCell with the radio node. Note that the SCell activation procedure may include reporting, to the radio node, CSI of a narrow beam pattern of the SCell that is to be activated, where the narrow beam pattern is narrower than the wide beam pattern of the electronic device, and the narrow beam pattern is based at least in part on the measurements.

    Abstract: Techniques for changing a Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) state by a user equipment (UE) operating in a wireless communications system are provided. The UE receives a first message including a TCI state change command from a network and determines, based on the first message, whether a time offset/frequency offset (TO/FO) and a reception (Rx) beam for a new TCI state are known by the UE. Based on the determination, the UE calculates a time delay of the UE to be prepared to receive a reference signal with the new TCI state, generates a second message indicating the time delay of the UE for the new TCI state, and transmits the second message to the network.

Some embodiments include an NCR that can receive a Downlink Control Information (DCI) format comprising an offset indication in a single Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) monitoring periodicity, KS, where KS is an integer of slots. The NCR can determine a single On-Off Pattern (OOP) within KS based at least on the offset indication, and communicate with a base station or a user equipment (UE) based at least on the determination. In some embodiments, an Off-State of the NCR is a default, and the offset indication identifies a duration of an On-State of the NCR beginning at a starting orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of KS.

    Abstract: A cellular base station (BS) which transmits more flexible downlink control information (DCI) to the UE, and a UE capable of receiving and processing a received DCI message. The DCI message may have a DCI format of 0_1 or 0_2 and further may comprise an UL-SCH set to 0, a CSI request field of all 0s and an SRS request field having a nonzero value. The DCI message may indicate to the UE that the UE should: 1) transmit an aperiodic SRS corresponding to SRS request; and 2) that the UE should not transmit on the PUSCH. The DCI may include existing fields that specify either a slot offset or beam information useable when transmitting the aperiodic SRS. The base station may also generate a DCI message with an SRS trigger that is targeted to a plurality of UEs in a group, or a plurality of groups of UEs, for greater efficiency.

The second base station can be in a being-activated state. The UE can determine whether an uplink spatial relation configuration is provided to the UE, and determine whether the UE supports beam correspondence. The UE may receive measurement resource configuration parameters identifying time and frequency locations of the measurement resources transmitted on the multiple carrier frequencies. The UE may receive measurement gap configuration parameters for multiple concurrent MGPs specifying measurement intervals that may be used to perform the measurements. The UE may determine a linkage between the measurement resources on a carrier frequency and one of the concurrent MGPs so that the UE may independently measure the measurement resources received on the multiple carrier frequencies using their respectively linked MGPs.
