Abstract: A method that determines a resource at a first user equipment (UE) for a sidelink communication from the second UE to a first UE is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the method receives a request from the second UE to send data to the first UE. In addition, the method determines a preconfigured resource selection window that is used by the second UE. Furthermore, the method determines a first sensing result at the first UE. The determined first sensing result includes information to be reported to the second UE for a resource selection. The determined first sensing results has a plurality of first sensing types. Further, the method transmits the first sensing result from the first UE to the second UE.

  • Publication number: 20240031839
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a UE to perform measurements of measurement resources transmitted by a network when the UE is configured with multiple concurrent measurement gap patterns (MGPs). The measurement resources may be carried on multiple carrier frequencies. The UE may receive measurement resource configuration parameters identifying time and frequency locations of the measurement resources transmitted on the multiple carrier frequencies. The UE may receive measurement gap configuration parameters for multiple concurrent MGPs specifying measurement intervals that may be used to perform the measurements. The UE may determine a linkage between the measurement resources on a carrier frequency and one of the concurrent MGPs so that the UE may independently measure the measurement resources received on the multiple carrier frequencies using their respectively linked MGPs.

  • Publication number: 20240032131
Abstract: Triggering an uplink (UL) gap at a base station may include decoding a user equipment (UE) UL gap capability report received from a UE. A radio resource control (RRC) UL gap configuration for transmission to the UE may be encoded. The RRC UL gap configuration may include configuration information associated with at least one of a periodicity, offset, or length. Measurement information received from the UE may be decoded. The measurement information may include at least one of a power headroom value, a PCMAX,f,c value, or a P value. Based on the power headroom value, the PCMAX,f,c value, or the P value, the UL gap configuration may be activated by encoding a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) for transmission to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20240031102
Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate transmission and reference signals (RS) associated with layer-1 (L1) operations outside of a configured carrier bandwidth (CBW) of a user equipment (UE). One example aspect is a UE with one or more processors configured to transmit UE capability information. The UE capability information includes a frequency separation threshold, where the frequency separation threshold represents a frequency separation from a CBW of the UE. The one or more processors are further configured to receive a RS within the frequency separation threshold and outside of the CBW, and subsequently perform a L1 operation based on the RS.

  • Publication number: 20240023169
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for reducing likelihood of Random Access Channel (RACH) transmission blockages and thereby facilitate an initial access procedure for new radio (NR) unlicensed spectrum (NR-U) operation in a fifth generation (5G) wireless communication system including an NR node. In some embodiments, a parameter generated by a gNB and received by a UE indicates that, from among a set of consecutive RACH Occasions (ROs), a gap is available for performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure before commencing a RACH transmission.

  • Publication number: 20240022975
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure enable a user equipment (UE) to performing inter-Radio Access Technology (RAT) measurements. The UE determines whether one or more inter-RAT measurement object (MO) is configured with or without a measurement gap (MG). When the one or more inter-RAT MO is on an NR serving component carrier (CC) with the MG, the UE performs an inter-RAT measurement on the NR serving CC based on whether the MG is fully overlapped or partially overlapped with synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) of a target MO of the one or more inter-RAT MO. When the one or more inter-RAT MO is on the NR serving CC without the MG, the UE performs the inter-RAT measurement on the NR serving CC based on whether a target SSB of the target MO is within or outside an active bandwidth part (BWP) of the NR serving CC.

  • Publication number: 20240023159
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a timing of a random access channel (RACH) occasion (RO) used to transmit a contention free random access (CFRA) preamble triggered by the receipt of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order in a PDCCH are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) receives the PDCCH order and determines a timing offset value between the RO and a signal (e.g., a synchronization signal block (SSB), the PDCCH, a reference signal, etc.) to be used as a timing source. The UE also determines the arrival time of the signal to be used at the timing source. The UE then determines a time of the RO (during which the CFRA preamble will be transmitted) according to the arrival time and the timing offset value. Timing advance (TA) value(s) may also be accounted for as part of such a determination.

  • Publication number: 20240019521
Abstract: Systems and methods of a wireless communications system using signals not traditionally used for positioning purposes for positioning measurements in both uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) are described herein. A user equipment (UE) may generate a UE capability information message indicating one or more signal types that the UE can process for DL positioning measurements and/or that the UE can send for UL positioning measurements. The one or more signal types so indicated may include signals not traditionally used for positioning measurements. The UE may send, to the base station, the UE capability information message. The wireless communications system may then configure the base station and/or the UE to use such signal types with one or more positioning methods. In some embodiments, the base station may also indicate to the UE a subset of signals of an indicated type which should be processed for DL measurements/sent for UL measurements.

  • Publication number: 20240022305
Abstract: Techniques for changing a Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) state by a user equipment (UE) operating in a wireless communications system are provided. The UE receives a first message including a TCI state change command from a network and determines, based on the first message, whether a time offset/frequency offset (TO/FO) and a reception (Rx) beam for a new TCI state are known by the UE. Based on the determination, the UE calculates a time delay of the UE to be prepared to receive a reference signal with the new TCI state, generates a second message indicating the time delay of the UE for the new TCI state, and transmits the second message to the network.

  • Publication number: 20240022266
Abstract: A communication system provides reliable wideband communications with reduced power consumption in a user equipment (UE) receiver. A UE may include receiver circuitry to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal from a wireless network and output an analog baseband signal. The RF signal includes M copies of a duplicated signal in a frequency domain. The analog baseband signal includes the M copies of the duplicated signal uniformly offset from one another in the frequency domain by a bandwidth F and including a gap between adjacent copies. The UE further includes an anti-aliasing analog filter an analog to digital converter (ADC). The ADC samples an output of the anti-aliasing analog filter at a sampling frequency selected to obtain a digital baseband signal comprising a combined digital copy of the M copies of the duplicated signal folded over each other.

  • Publication number: 20240015704
Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing uplink (UL) gaps to facilitate user equipment (UE) calibration are disclosed herein. A UE determines one or more slot patterns of a slot configuration that is repeated during time division duplex (TDD) communication with a base station. The UE determines a UL gap periodicity (defining periods covering an integer number of repetitions of the slot configuration). The UE then performs UE calibration during one or more semi-persistently configured UL slots of a period of the UL gap periodicity that correspond to UL indication(s) in one or more of a common configuration, a dedicated configuration, and/or a slot format indication (SFI) downlink control information (DCI) for the slot pattern(s) of the slot configuration. Methods of identifying particular semi-persistently configured UL slots of a period to use for the UL gap are also discussed. UL slot indications from dynamic DCI are not used for UL gap purposes.
