Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a new modular SLC (Surface Laminar Circuit) interconnect system for replacing the traditional ceramic substrate implanted with 56 Duece modules, the interconnect system includes an organizer for accurately positioning the connector assemblies, and a plurality of fully populated connector housings defining a pitch same as that defined by the Duece modules. Each connector housing defines two receiving slots to receive two SLC modules which are further commonly held by a heat sink above. Each SLC module is equipped with a plurality of micro-controllers, a plurality of OE glass lenses, a plurality of IC chips, and a molded lens and fiber able assembly.

Abstract: A method of coating an internal surface of an assembled heat exchanger is provided. The heat exchanger comprising a first passage for a first heat exchange fluid, and a second passage for a second heat exchange fluid. The first and second passages are separated by at least one heat transfer element. The heat transfer element has a first surface facing the first passage. The method comprises; pre-treating the first surface by circulating at least one pre-treatment liquid through the first passage of the heat exchanger and a pre-treatment liquid storage separate from the heat exchanger, and electroless nickel plating the first surface by circulating a solution comprising nickel ions through the first passage of the heat exchanger and a solution container separate from the heat exchanger. A heat exchanger comprising a nickel plating is also disclosed.

Abstract: An impeller includes a metal base plate, a shaft and a plurality of plastic blades. The metal base plate includes a shaft-coupling portion, a peripheral portion, and first and second surfaces. The first surface faces away from the second surface in a first direction, the second surface faces away from the first surface in a second direction. The metal base plate is flat between the shaft-coupling portion and the peripheral portion. The first surface has a permanent magnet. The shaft has a fixing end coupled with the shaft-coupling portion, as well as a free end extending axially in the first direction. Each plastic blade has a coupling portion coupled with the peripheral portion, as well as an air-driving portion axially extending in the second direction. The impeller may be rotatably coupled with a driving module. The driving module is installed in a fan frame to form an advection fan.

Abstract: A coordinate measuring machine has 1) an anchor beam with a top end and a bottom end, 2) at least one support beam having a top end and a bottom end, and 3) a cross-beam supported on the top ends of both the anchor beam and the at least one support beam. In addition, the coordinate measuring machine also has 4) a base supporting the bottom ends of the anchor beam and the at least one support beam. At least one of the at least one support beams has a first spring and a second spring. In preferred embodiments, the first spring is adapted to allow movement and is spaced from the second spring in a direction that is generally parallel with the longitudinal axis of the cross-beam.

Abstract: A coordinate measuring machine has a measuring member for measuring a workpiece, a counterweight to control movement of the measuring member, and a pulley and cable system coupling the measuring member with the counterweight. The coordinate measuring machine also has a guide track, where the counterweight is movably secured to the guide track. The guide track substantially limits counterweight movement, relative to the measuring member, to one dimension.

Abstract: A centrifugal separator includes a rotor which is rotatable around an axis of rotation. The rotor includes a separation chamber with an inlet for a liquid mixture containing solid particles, at least one liquid outlet for a separated liquid from the liquid mixture, and a solids outlet for the separated solid particles. A screw conveyor is arranged to rotate inside the rotor around the axis of rotation, at a different speed than the rotor. The screw conveyor has at least one conveyor flight for transporting the separated solid particles in the separation chamber towards and out of the solids outlet. The conveyor flight is provided with wear resistant elements arranged along its edge and the wear resistant elements are spaced apart with an interspace between mutually adjacent wear resistant elements.

The cable collector board includes a plurality of first printed circuits electrically collecting the cables, and a first connector electrically collecting the first printed circuits. The motherboard includes a plurality of second printed circuits and a second connector collecting the second printed circuits. The second connector is detachably electrically connected to the first connector.

Abstract: Dickkopf (Dkk) proteins inhibit the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. Each of the members of the Dkk family has been previously cloned and expressed as a soluble protein in eukaryotic cells, while expression in bacterial cells has resulted in the formation of insoluble inclusion bodies that require further processing. The present invention provides compositions and methods for producing soluble, active dkk protein in prokaryotic host cells, by expressing the dkk protein as a fusion protein with a solubilization molecule, thereby providing an inexpensive and convenient source of pure active Dkk.

Abstract: A virtual machine is migrated between a source cloud and a destination cloud. A temporary storage is mounted to a partition management firmware of the source cloud and to a partition management firmware of the destination cloud. A first storage location migration migrates the virtual machine from the source cloud to the at least one temporary storage. A second storage location migration migrates the virtual machine from the at least one temporary storage to final destination storage of the destination cloud. The temporary storage is then unmounted from the partition management firmware of the source cloud and from the partition management firmware of the destination cloud.

Abstract: A miniature motor includes a base having a coupling portion. An engaging portion is provided on a periphery of the base surrounding the coupling portion to form a concave surface therebetween. A stator coil unit includes a substrate mounted on the concave surface. A rotating member is rotatably coupled with the coupling portion and includes a permanent magnet. The base includes a thermoplastic section having a reduced opening. The reduced opening is formed by heating and deforming the thermoplastic section after the stator coil unit is mounted on the concave surface, and the molten and deformed thermoplastic section takes shape to form the reduced opening after cooling. The base can be connected to a frame having an air inlet and an air outlet to form a fan housing, and the rotating member includes blades to form an impeller, providing a cooling fan including the miniature motor.

The casing has a compartment receiving a heat-emitting source or a heat-conducting element. The casing further includes two radial air-guiding openings communicating with the compartment. The advection-type fan has a frame disposed in the compartment. The frame has an air-guiding lateral wall defining a radial air channel. The frame has radial air inlet and a radial air outlet. Both the radial air inlet and the radial air outlet communicate with the radial air channel. The radial air inlet and the radial air outlet face the two radial air-guiding openings of the casing respectively. The radial air channel receives an impeller that causes air advection to dissipate the heat of the heat-emitting source or the heat-conducting element. The frame has two sides that are completely laid open.

Abstract: A method, data processing system, and computer program product for managing images. A processor unit divides an image for a virtual machine into blocks. The processor unit determines whether to compress the blocks prior to transmitting the blocks to a destination for the image. In response to a determination to compress the blocks, the processor unit compresses the blocks to form a compressed set of blocks. The processor unit sends the compressed set of blocks and any uncompressed blocks remaining in the blocks to the destination for the image.

An amount of resources to perform a task for the virtual machine are identified in response to receiving a request to perform the task for the virtual machine in a set of data processing systems. A set of resources in the set of data processing systems available to complete the task for the virtual machine are identified. A set of priorities for a set of phases of the task are identified. Operations are scheduled on the set of resources to perform the task for the virtual machine based on the set of priorities identified for the set of phases of the task.

Abstract: The Wnt signaling pathways are involved in embryo development as well as in tumorigenesis. Dishevelled (Dvl) tranduces Wnt signals from the receptor Frizzled (Fz) to downstream components in canonical and non-canonical Wnt signaling pathways, and the Dvl PDZ domain plays an essential role in both pathways, and the Dvl PDZ domain binds directly to Fz receptors. In the present invention using NMR-assisted virtual ligand screening, several compounds were identified and were found to bind to the Dvl PDZ domain. Molecular dynamics simulation was used to analyze the binding between the PDZ domain and these compounds in detail. These compounds provide a basis for rational design of high-affinity inhibitors of the PDZ domain, which can block Wnt signaling by interrupting the Fz-Dvl interaction.
