Abstract: A task infrastructure that allows for the decoupling of the task launch code from the task client code and from the task execution code is provided. The task infrastructure allows the relationship between the task display and launch logic and the task client logic to be defined in a declarative manner, allowing for the segregation of the task display and launch logic from the task client logic. The task infrastructure comprises a manifest that contains a specification of the relationship between the task display and launch logic and the task client logic. The manifest may also define which task clients expose which tasks, the context under which each task is displayed, the arguments that the task needs in order to start execution, the task description to display, and the method in which the task can be launched. At run-time, a task client can read the manifest and decide which task or tasks to expose to an end user under a current context.

Abstract: A framework for declarative expression of data processing is provided. The framework allows for data to be represented by its metadata in a declarative manner, allowing for the generation of code at, for example, build time. The declarative representation of the metadata facilitates the separation of the data (e.g., the raw data that is stored in a data store and that is available using, for example, a data store adapter) from the code (e.g., the code that is executed for the manipulation and validation of data) and the view (e.g., the form that the data is shown to a user, for example, through a UI).

Abstract: A keystroke apparatus for an optical disk drive includes a computer bezel (40), an optical disk drive (10) having a keystroke (12), a pressing member (20) movably attached to the computer bezel (40) and at least one spring (30) causing the pressing member (20) to come back to an original position. The pressing member (20) has a slanted resisting portion (25) for abutting against the keystroke (12). When the pressing member (20) is pressed, the resisting portion (25) drives the keystroke (12) to open or close the optical disk drive (10).

Abstract: The present invention discloses compounds, compositions, and methods of using such compounds and compositions to inhibit, reduce, prevent, and remove biofilms. The invention further relates to methods of inhibiting biofilms on various substrates, such as medical devices.

Abstract: An optical recording/reproducing apparatus includes an upper cover, a lower cover, and several vents. Each vent is arranged on the lower cover, and includes a first grille and a parallel second grille. The first and second grilles each include parallel louvers interleaved by parallel gaps. The first grille is arranged at an outer surface of the lower cover, while the second grille is arranged on an inner surface of the lower cover, with a clearance h separating the first and second grilles. Heat produced in the optical recording/reproducing apparatus is expelled out from the housing via the gaps of the second grille and the gaps of the first grille. However, external dust or contaminants that may enter the gaps of the first grille are blocked from entering the housing by the louvers of the second grille.

Abstract: A casing (10) for an optical disk player includes a body (14) for housing a disk playing mechanism, and a top lid (12). The top lid is closable downward to a closed position for covering at least part of the body, and is openable upward to an open position for loading or unloading an optical disk. A pair of pivot pins (440, 584) is formed on opposite lateral sides of the body respectively, and a pair of pivot holes (220, 34) is defined in opposite lateral sides of the top lid respectively. The pivot pins are movably received in the pivot holes. A resilient member (56) is interposed between the body and the top lid, for resiliently loading the top lid in a direction toward its open position. In assembly, at least one of the pivot pins is insertable into the corresponding pivot hole by deforming the top lid slightly.

Abstract: A system is for use in printing data on a printer. A client interfaces with an applications program that has a print capability. A print server in communication with the client controls a printing of data communicated to the print server by the client. A user interface manager communicates with the print server by an asynchronous bi-directional communications channel between the print server and the client. The user interface manager responds to a user interface message sent from the print server to display information to a user in a flexible custom manner. One exemplary system includes a user display. The message sent to the client user interface manager by the server is a language neutral message that is interpreted by the user interface manager and converted to another representation for presentation to the user on the user display. Abstract: A decoding method for MP3 bit streams, which replaces a buffer required in the decoding process by manipulating the order of data decoding. The decoding method includes reading the head and side information of the current frame, and calculating a main data's start address of the current frame. While decoding the main data, the head and side information of subsequent frames are skipped if the reading of the main data is not yet completed. The start address of the next frame is calculated and directly accessed after finished reading the main data of the current frame. An optimum method for accessing frequency lines utilizes the characteristics of the MP3 frequency line, instead of inserting a plurality of zeros in the rzero zone containing successive zeros, the initial boundary address of the rzero zone is memorized.

First and second secondary sprockets or pulleys are mounted on the ends of first and second cylinder rods respectively, each secondary sprocket having one of the loops passing over it. Abstract: Methods of identifying and preparing anti-infectious agent compounds comprising the steps of incubating single stranded nucleic acids or nucleic acid analogs in the presence of infectious agents, selecting for nucleic acids or nucleic acid analogs which bind infectious agents, amplifying selected nucleic acids or nucleic acid analogs, repeating the selection steps and assaying for anti-infection activity are disclosed. Compositions that have anti-infectious activity against Rous sarcoma virus are also disclosed. Methods of identifying anti-tumor agent compounds are also disclosed.
