    Abstract: A method is provided for an agent in a virtual machine (VM) and an application policy manager to implement application monitoring and remediation. The application policy manager provides a user interface for defining policies for applications running on VMs where each policy includes monitoring conditions and remediation for the monitoring conditions. The application policy manager receives a policy for an application on the VM and sends it to the agent. The agent monitors the application based on the policy. When the agent detects a monitoring condition, the agent sends an alert identifying the application and the monitoring condition directly or indirectly to an events and alarms manager that records the alert, sends a log generated by the application to an email address or to an log analyzer that analyzes the log to determine a cause of the monitoring condition, and performs a remediation for the monitoring condition.

The preparation method of the compound surfactants is simple and easy to be industrialized.

    Abstract: A mechanism is provided for identifying suggestions as to which log files associated with data in a data warehouse to search for particular data. Features from the contents of a plurality of log files from a set of log files are selected. The plurality of log files are grouped based on the selected features. Using extracted log event sequences, a correlation between the log event sequences and a plurality of data transaction tables from a set of data transaction tables in the data warehouse is calculated. Suggestions as to which log files in the set of log files should be searched is then identified for particular data based on a business relevance value and a utilized data ratio.

    Abstract: A method for a processor to provide a chart of a performance metric in a collection interval includes creating regions by dividing the collection interval into regions of increasingly smaller time intervals and determining a mean and a variance for each region based on data points in that region, sorting the regions by their variances and means, and processing the sorted regions. Processing the sorted regions includes removing any child region when its parent region has a variance that substantially represents the child region, and replacing any two neighboring or intersecting regions with a merged region comprising the two neighboring or intersecting regions when the merged region has a variance that substantially represents the two neighboring or intersecting regions. The method further includes generating the chart by visually indicating highest ranking regions by variance in the chart and displaying the chart or transmitting the chart over a computer network.

    Abstract: A method for forming a topological insulator structure is provided. A strontium titanate substrate having a surface (111) is used. The surface (111) of the strontium titanate substrate is cleaned by heat-treating the strontium titanate substrate in the molecular beam epitaxy chamber. The strontium titanate substrate is heated and Bi beam, Sb beam, Cr beam, and Te beam are formed in the molecular beam epitaxy chamber in a controlled ratio achieved by controlling flow rates of the Bi beam, Sb beam, Cr beam, and Te beam. The magnetically doped topological insulator quantum well film is formed on the surface (111) of the strontium titanate substrate. The amount of the hole type charge carriers introduced by the doping with Cr is substantially equal to the amount of the electron type charge carriers introduced by the doping with Bi.
