  • Patent number: 5884496
Abstract: A cool air feeding system that senses a temperature of each part of a refrigerator compartment, compares the sensed temperature with a reference temperature, determines which part is to be cooled, and redistributes cool air to better cool a part of the refrigeration having a greater need to be cooled. Cool air redistribution is achieved using a single value having multiple openings. Such a valve can take the form of cylindrical manifold and a corresponding cylindrical, unitary-body flow distributor, for example.

  • Patent number: 5857720
Abstract: The present invention is related to an opening device for a microwave oven door. A hook is moved up and down to open/close the door. A swing lever moves the hook upwardly when swinging around a swing shaft at a predetermined angle. An elastic piece is protrudingly formed from an inside of the microwave oven to the swing lever for supporting the swing lever through one direction. By this construction, the elastic piece is deformed because the swing lever is swung. This bending restoring force restores the push button and swing lever to their initial positions, when the push button is released. As a result, the push button is restored without special spring part. Therefore, the number of parts is decrease, and the production cost is lowered. Also, the assembling work is improved, since the elastic piece is produced with swing lever integrally.

  • Patent number: 5858572
Abstract: A battery having a reinforced structure capable of preventing expansion of the bottom of the battery case due to internal pressure generated during charging of a secondary battery is provided. A conventional battery has a problem that in order to achieve higher performance and smaller size, the thickness of the battery case is decreased, and therefore the bottom of the battery case is expanded outward due to increases in the internal pressure caused by gas generated during charging. To solve the above problem, a lower reinforcement plate having a number of protrusions is placed in the battery case and welded to the bottom of the battery case. Accordingly, the lower reinforcement plate prevents expansion of the battery, and performance of the battery can be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 5845004
Abstract: An ultrasound system produces composite color flow images of tissue samples. To reduce image flicker, the ultrasound system stores the data required to produce two sequential color flow images and computes a series of interpolated images that are displayed between the actual color flow images. A piece-wise interpolation function is used to create the interpolated images in order to prevent artificial smoothing of the image data. In addition, the ultrasound system quantizes the ultrasound data used to compute the interpolated images in order to reduce the amount of memory required to store the data for the sequential color flow images.

  • Patent number: 5834832
Abstract: A packing structure for a surface mounting type semiconductor package, wherein at least one semiconductor chips are mounted on a die pad. A conductive pattern is formed on a printed circuit board which is located beneath an exposed side of a die pad of the package. A nonconductive thin film or a conductive layer is formed between the conductive pattern and the die pad. The conductive pattern is electrically connected to the die pad so that there is generated the package voltage difference therebetween, thereby reducing the electric noise of the package and facilitating high speed operation of the package without reducing a mounting density.

  • Patent number: 5831949
Abstract: An apparatus efficiently compensates a focus error signal detected by a focus error detector in an optical disk system using an improved focus error compensation scheme. At an optical head, light reflected from a data recording surface of an optical disk is received, wherein the light from a light source is first focussed on the data recording surface of the optical disk before it is reflected therefrom, and converted into an electrical signal. At the focus error detector, the focus error (FE) signal is detected from the electrical signal. Next, at a controller, a regenerative information (RF) signal from the optical head is received and a selection signal is derived based on both a magnitude of the FE signal and a power level of the RF signal.
