  • Publication number: 20040264407
Abstract: The invention discloses a method of locating and measuring a mobile station, which relates with the radio locating technique in mobile communication field. Comparing with the conventional radio locating technique, the method improves the first path determination method of a neighbor base station downlink signal as follows: with geometrical relationship such as the distance between a MS to the reference base station and the distance between a neighbor base station to the reference base station, an effective range of the downlink signal first path of the neighbor base station can be calculated; the effective range is an effective search window that is shorter than the original large search window, and the first path determination of the neighbor base station downlink signal is made within the effective search window. The invention raises the first path determination accuracy of a neighbor base station downlink signal, so the mobile station locating accuracy is raised too.

  • Publication number: 20040209344
Abstract: The invention relates to molecules or molecular complexes which comprise binding pockets of angiotensin-converting enzyme-related carboxypeptidase or its homologues. The invention relates to a computer comprising a data storage medium encoded with the structure coordinates of such binding pockets. The invention also relates to methods of using the structure coordinates to solve the structure of homologous proteins or protein complexes. The invention relates to methods of using the structure coordinates to screen for and design compounds that bind to angiotensin-converting enzyme-related carboxypeptidase protein or homologues thereof. The invention also relates to crystallizable compositions and crystals comprising angiotensin-converting enzyme-related carboxypeptidase protein or angiotensin-converting enzyme-related carboxypeptidase protein complexes.

  • Publication number: 20040096894
Abstract: The present invention relates to the crystal and three dimensional structures of the lectin and EGF-like (LE) domains of P-selectin, the crystal and three dimensional structures of P-selectin LE and E-selectin LE each complexed with SLeX, as well as the crystal and three dimensional structure of P-selectin LE complexed with a functional PSGL-1 peptide modified by both tyrosine sulfation and SLeX. The present invention also provides methods for identifying agents which activate or inhibitor each of the foregoing structures. In addition, the present invention provides agents identified by such methods.
