  • Publication number: 20130005066
Abstract: A donor film that is easily handled in a process without adding a separate member (such as a tray) when an organic thin film is formed on a substrate by using a thermal transfer method is disclosed. In addition, a method of manufacturing the donor film and a method of manufacturing an organic light-emitting device using the donor film are disclosed. The donor film includes: a base film; a light-to-heat conversion (LTHC) layer on the base film; an interlayer on the LTHC layer and that includes a transfer region and a first protrusion corresponding to at least one edge of the LTHC layer; and a transfer layer on the interlayer and including an organic light-emitting material. A rigidity of the first protrusion is higher than a rigidity of the transfer region.

  • Patent number: 8324013
Abstract: An organic layer of an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device is formed by transferring a transfer layer of a donor film to aligned pixel openings in a pixel defining region of the OLED display device such that the organic layer is formed in the pixel openings. Each aligned pixel opening has a pair of long sides and a pair of short sides, and the transferring of the transfer layer is performed by applying tensile force to the donor film in a direction perpendicular to the short sides of the pixel openings.

  • Publication number: 20120099615
Abstract: Provided are a laser induced thermal imaging (LITI) mask, a laser irradiation apparatus including the LITI mask, and a method of manufacturing an organic light emitting device by using the LITI mask. The LITI mask including an opening corresponding to a pixel region and an opening corresponding to an edge of a pixel is used to form an organic layer in an upper portion of a substrate of an organic light emitting device, thereby transferring the organic layer to an edge of the pixel region.

  • Publication number: 20110180203
Abstract: A laser induced thermal imaging (LITI) apparatus includes a stage configured to support an acceptor substrate and a supporting portion configured to support a donor film and to move the donor film up and down relative to the stage so as to adjust a distance between the acceptor substrate and the donor film. The donor film includes a thin film to be disposed on the acceptor substrate. The stage includes a discharging outlet through which gas between the acceptor substrate and the donor film is discharged to the outside. The LITI apparatus may be used to laminate a film on an acceptor substrate including an organic light emitting display device.
