    Abstract: Automatically correcting for rotational misalignment of a wafer improperly mounted on a film frame includes capturing an image of portions of the wafer using an image capture device, prior to initiation of a wafer inspection procedure by an inspection system; digitally determining a rotational misalignment angle and a rotational misalignment direction of the wafer relative to the film frame and/or a set of reference axes of a field of view of the image capture device; and correcting for the rotational misalignment of the wafer by way of a film frame handling apparatus separate from the inspection system, which is configured for rotating the film frame across the rotational misalignment angle in a direction opposite to the rotational misalignment direction. Such film frame rotation can occur prior to placement of the film frame on the wafer table, without decreasing film frame handling throughput or inspection process throughput.

    Abstract: A method of distinguishing a control solution from a sample in an electrochemical test sensor is performed. The method includes adding a control marker to the control solution. The control solution includes the control marker and analyte. The test sensor includes working and counter electrodes, and a reagent. A potential is applied to the test sensor to oxidize the control marker and the analyte. The resulting electrical current is measured. A potential is applied to the test sensor lower than the other potential in which the potential is sufficient to oxidize the analyte and not the control marker. The resulting electrical current is measured. Determining whether a control solution or a sample is present based on the measured electrical currents. To increase the measured current, a salt may be added to the control solution in an amount sufficient to increase the electrical current by at least 5% as compared to a control solution in the absence of a salt.

Segmental images are digitally stitched together to produce a composite image, which can be processed to identify die presence or absence therein at active area die positions having counterpart die positions in a process wafer map. A composite image of a diced wafer on a film frame can also be generated, and used as a navigation aid or guide during die sort operations, or to verify whether a die sort apparatus has correctly detected a reference die prior to die sort operations. A composite image of a skeleton wafer can similarly be generated for use as a navigation aid or guide for film frame repopulation operations.
