  • Patent number: 7371339
Abstract: A retroreflective structure includes a retroreflective sheeting having an array of transparent prisms formed into pairs of prisms. Each prism includes a base aperture and three intersecting lateral faces meeting at an apex. Each of the lateral faces includes a base edge which forms a portion of the perimeter of the base aperture. The base edge of each lateral face intersects the base edge of a contiguous lateral face to form a base point, the first face of at least one prism in the array including a first face first planar surface and a first face second planar surface. The first face first planar surface and the first face second planar surface are contiguous along an edge having a first and second end points, wherein the apex, the first end point, and a first base point are coplanar and form a continuous edge from the first base point to the apex.

  • Publication number: 20080003601
Abstract: The present invention is a method for detecting DNA sequence differences including single nucleotide mutations or polymorphisms, one or more nucleotide insertions, and one or more nucleotide deletions. Labeled heteroduplex PCR fragments containing base mismatches are prepared. Endonuclease cleaves the heteroduplex PCR fragments both at the position containing the variation (one or more mismatched bases) and to a lesser extent, at non-variant (perfectly matched) positions. Ligation of the cleavage products with a DNA ligase corrects non-variant cleavages and thus substantially reduces background. This is then followed by a detection step in which the reaction products are detected, and the position of the sequence variations are determined.

  • Publication number: 20060213778
Abstract: A method of electroplating conductive material on semiconductor wafers improves deposited film quality by providing greater control over the formation of the film grain structure. Better grain size control is achieved by applying a continuous DC plating current to the wafer which avoids sharp discontinuities in the current as the applied current is increased in successive stages during a plating cycle. Current discontinuities are avoided by gradually increasing the current in a ramp-like fashion between the successive plating stages.

  • Patent number: 6968065
Abstract: A multifunction analog input/output interface for a sound processing system reduces the number of I/O pins and system components by using a speaker as an output device, an input device, and/or a control device. The system includes an integrated circuit containing a multifunction pin for connection to the speaker, an output circuit that drives the speaker, and an input circuit that receives a signal from the speaker when sound or touching the speaker moves a magnet in the speaker. An activation circuit coupled to the multifunction pin, activates an operation of the integrated circuit when the speaker provides a signal above a threshold level. Thus, a single pin serves three functions, sound signal input, sound signal output, and operation activation. The operation activated can be, for example, a playback or record operation. A delay element in the activation circuit prevents reactivation of an operation until vibrations in the speaker from a completed operation have died away.
