  • Publication number: 20150016744
Abstract: In ultrasound images, there are many stationary echoes in the region superficial to the deep region comprising the heart. In the present invention, a HPF processing unit (20) filters frame data by applying a high pass filter, the characteristics of which have been set according to the depth in the frame, on the frame data at said depth. The high pass filter can be achieved, for example, with a digital filter and the characteristics of the high pass filter are adjusted by the filter-setting unit (22) setting the filter coefficient of said digital filter. That is to say, the filter coefficient in the HPF processing unit (20) is controlled by the filter-setting unit (22) so that the deeper the region, the higher the offset level is set.

  • Patent number: 8845540
Abstract: A 2D array transducer (10) is separated into a plurality of sub-arrays. Four representative sub-arrays SA1 to SA4 are shown in an enlarged manner. In addition, the 2D array transducer (10) is segmented into a plurality of transducer regions. Four regions of (I)-(IV) segmented by dot-and-chain lines represent four transducer regions. A grouping process is executed for each sub-array to group the plurality of transducer elements belonging to the sub-array into a plurality of element groups. In this process, for each transducer region, a common grouping pattern is set for the plurality of sub-arrays belonging to the transducer region. For example, because sub-arrays SA1 and SA2 belong to the same transducer region (IV), a common grouping pattern is set for the sub-arrays SA1 and SA2.

  • Patent number: 8673768
Abstract: A fabrication method for improving surface planarity after tungsten chemical mechanical polishing (W-CMP) is disclosed. The method forms contact holes and dummy patterns by performing two respective photolithography-and-etching processes to ensure that the dummy patterns have a depth smaller than that of the contact holes. Then the method fills tungsten into the contact holes and dummy patterns and removes the redundant tungsten by a W-CMP process. With such a method, difference of wiring density between areas can be reduced by the dummy patterns, and hence a better surface planarity of the contact hole layer can be achieved. Besides, as the dummy patterns are formed in a pre-metal dielectric layer and their depth is well controlled, tungsten filled in the dummy patterns will not contact with the device area below the pre-metal dielectric layer, and thus will not affect the performance of the device.

  • Patent number: 8631717
Abstract: One aspect of the instant disclosure is to provide a sensorless adaptive safety actuator. The safety actuator comprises a driving unit, a transmission unit coupled to the driving unit, and an output unit coupled to the transmission unit. The transmission unit comprises a load-adaptable retracting mechanism. When the output unit experiences a mechanical load exceeding a critical value, the load-adaptable retracting mechanism causes the transmission unit to decouple from the driving unit. Thus, responding to an accident where the impact on the output unit causes a force/torque overload, the instant safety actuator is capable of effectively stopping the force/torque transmission to the work output device without the use of active sensors.

  • Publication number: 20130265215
Abstract: A pixel circuit relating to an organic light emitting diode (OLED) is provided by the invention, and if the circuit configuration (5T1C) thereof collocates with suitable operation waveforms, the current flowing through an OLED in the OLED pixel circuit is not varied along with the variation of the conducting voltage (Voled_th) of the OLED in a long time driving current stress, and is not varied with the threshold voltage (Vth) shift of a TFT used for driving the OLED. Accordingly, not only the brightness decay of the OLED in the long time stress is mitigated or compensated, but also the brightness uniformity of the applied OLED display is substantially improved.

  • Publication number: 20130239960
Abstract: A modularized respiratory treatment apparatus provides various respiratory pressure treatments. The apparatus may be formed by discrete connectable modules such as a flow generator module, alarm module and/or humidifier module. Each module may include its own external casing or housing to independently retain or enclose the respective components that serve the function of the module. Different modules may be adapted with different components and functionalities and may be readily coupled using standardized gas and electrical connection configurations that have flow and communication paths that extend through the modules. When coupled, operation of the respiratory treatment apparatus may be controlled by detection of different modules, such as the alarm module that generates visual and/or audible alarms based on detected conditions, so as to selectively enable or disable different respiratory treatments.

  • Patent number: 8480586
Abstract: An ultrasound diagnosis apparatus having a transmission circuit which generates a transmission signal is provided. The transmission signal corresponds to a combined waveform of a trapezoidal waveform and an impulse-shaped waveform (impulse portion). In an example transmission signal, a front slope portion, a flat portion, and a rear slope portion exist in a positive polarity side. The impulse portion has a shape which protrudes from an offset level over a base line into an opposite polarity side. Because the center frequency of the trapezoidal wave form is near the DC component, the trapezoidal wave form can substantially be ignored. The impulse portion has a large amplitude, but because the impulse portion exists over both polarities, there is no need to apply a special high voltage countermeasure for each polarity in designing the transmission circuit. A trapezoidal wave form of an opposite polarity may be added in front of the trapezoidal waveform.

  • Publication number: 20130108409
Abstract: An end effector (20, 20?) for simultaneously transferring a batch of substrates (202). The end effector (20, 20?) includes a set of juxtaposed substrate grippers (22, 22?) having a pitch between pairs of grippers (22, 22?) that does not exceed six (6.00) mm. Each gripper (22, 22?) has a contact surface (54, 54?) against which a substrate (202) becomes clamped upon injecting a gaseous jet into an open groove (56A, 56B, 56?) formed into the contact surface (54, 54?). Due to the close spacing between immediately adjacent pairs of substrate grippers (22, 22?), the open groove (56A, 56B, 56?) must be very shallow. The open groove (56A, 56B, 56?) can be characterized by having a groove depth into the contact surface (54, 54?) that is between two (2 .00) mm and two and four tenths (2.40) mm.
