  • Patent number: 8739087
Abstract: In the process of designing an integrated circuit (IC), it is often the case that a functional description is converted into multiplexers. In some cases it would be more efficient to combine two or more multiplexers into a larger multiplexer to identify potential design problems in the original register transfer level (RTL). Such early detection can prevent routing congestion problem that would be too expensive to fix later. A large multiplexer is defined as a multiplexer having a number of inputs and control signals that is above a predetermined threshold. When such a multiplexing functionality is detected that function may be replaced in the circuit with a large multiplexer that would be a more efficient implementation. Accordingly the circuit is checked for existence of multiplexing functions, and merging, when possible, of such multiplexing functions to achieve the ability to instantiate the multiplexing functionality with a large multiplexer.

  • Patent number: 8638080
Abstract: Circuits and methods for controlling Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) input of a driver circuit during transition of states are provided. The driver circuit is operative in one of a high state, a low state and a tri-state based on the PWM input. The method includes receiving a tri-state command for transition from the high state to the tri-state. A PWM output signal is enabled to transition from a high logic value to a low logic value for driving the driver circuit from the high state to the low state upon receipt of the tri-state command. The PWM output signal is enabled to transition from the low logic value to a tri-state logic value for driving the driver circuit from the low state to the tri-state upon elapse of a threshold time delay. The PWM input to the driver circuit is based on the PWM output signal.

  • Patent number: 8577626
Abstract: Methods and systems for assessing fluid dynamics aspects of corrosion and shear stress in piping networks are provided. Shear stress hot spots of a piping network may be identified using non-dimensional transfer functions that have been developed for identifying the magnitude and location of these local maxima depending upon the geometrical parameters of commonly used components of piping networks, the fluid properties of the flow, and the operating conditions of the piping network. Upon identification of potential shear stress local maxima, piping network operators may monitor these locations for corrosion or other damage to prevent loss of integrity of the pipes.

  • Patent number: 8127100
Abstract: A system and method of buffer management may employ a common data structure that is recognizable by both hardware and firmware. In some implementations, hardware register settings may be programmed independent of firmware updates to an internal sub-segment description table maintained in an ASIC or other buffer manager logic. Implementation of such a common data structure in external memory may substantially reduce hardware real estate and complexity of a buffer manager ASIC by minimizing the number of required registers and eliminating the need for an internal sub-segment descriptor table. In addition, by eliminating the internal sub-segment descriptor table and allowing buffer manager logic to recognize a common data structure in external memory, the number of buffer sub-segments recognized by the buffer manager may be readily expanded, and may be limited only by the size of the external memory.

  • Publication number: 20110125709
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for bookkeeping of download stamps are described herein. An embodiment includes augmenting database table (or mobile business object) metadata with a synchronization (“sync”) key and assigning a unique identifier to each sync key. A sync key is assigned to one or more rows (or records) in the database table and a download timestamp is associated with each sync key. The embodiment further includes identifying a sync key associated with each row in the database table. Links between rows occurring in different database tables are maintained using sync keys. In this way, embodiments of the invention allow a server to record a download timestamp of database table subsets, where such subsets may include one or more rows in the database tables. This allows data to be downloaded by a client at subset granularity.
