  • Patent number: 6464029
Abstract: The present invention relates to a motorized multi functional twist vehicle assembly that can be operated either by a user's twisting motion or by a motor. The main structure is a seat that also is the car body. In the front portion of the seat is a drive wheel assembly attached to the seat and the rear portion of the seat has rear wheels attached to the wheel shaft. The rear wheels have a wheel shaft and a clutch gear slideably attached to the wheel shaft. The clutch gear can be moved so as to engage and disengage a drive gear that is attached to a power motor assembly. A switching lever that controls the clutch arm is located on top of the seat. The meshing of the two gears can be done easily with the switching lever. In addition, the exact placement of the clutch gear and the drive gear for connecting and disconnecting can be achieved by the clutch arm or any other means of limiting the motion of the clutch gear.

  • Publication number: 20020084616
Abstract: An electrical twist vehicle includes a transmission system which enables a rider to selectively switch between electrically operated mode and manually operated mode for two rear wheels of the electrical twist vehicle by shifting a control member into a predefined position. In electrically operated mode, the two rear wheels of the electrical twist vehicle are driven by an electrical driving device whereas in manually operated mode, the two rear wheels of the electrical twist vehicle are set to free rotating. The transmission system includes a driving wheel connected to an electrical driving device, a driven wheel connected to a rear wheels axle, a transmission belt connecting the driving and driven wheel, and a biasing wheel wherein in electrically operated mode.

  • Publication number: 20020074180
Abstract: A twist vehicle which includes a rear operation system wherein the steering unit of twist vehicle is mounted in a relatively rear position with respect to the vehicle frame, such that a rider can drive the twist vehicle without leaning forwardly and uncomfortably. The function is achieved by connecting the steering unit by a driving member which is further mechanically connected to a driven member by a transmission belt, so that when clockwise and anti-clockwise movements are subsequently imparted to the steering unit, the motions can be transferred to the driven member which are frontwardly apart from the driving member with respect to the vehicle frame by the transmission belt, causing the twisting unit, which is connected to the driven member, to rotate according to the subsequently clockwise and anti-clockwise motions, and therefore causing the twist vehicle to move forwardly.

  • Publication number: 20020024188
Abstract: The present invention relates to a twist vehicle which includes three interchangeable driving devices, so that by changing the driving devices, the twist vehicle is capable of moving on different environments. The twist vehicle includes a changeable driving device connected to a twisting device, which is then connected to a steering device by a transmission device, so that when a clockwise and an anti-clockwise movements are imparted to the steering device, the twisting device turns correspondingly as a result, causing the twist vehicle to move on a flat ground, a snowy ground or water, depending on the selectively prearranged driving device of the twist vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20010052682
Abstract: The present invention, relating to a safety driving equipment for a scooter, includes a twister member with a supporting arm at the end thereof opposite to the driving wheels. A universal safety wheel is mounted at the free end of the supporting arm and a transmission unit is extended to connect the twister member at a position between the safety wheel and the driving wheels. The safety wheel is capable of efficiently providing an increased safety area while the scooter in wobbling mainly to maintain the force center shifting within the safety area.

  • Publication number: 20010050470
Abstract: The present invention relates to an operation arrangement, particularly to an operation arrangement for a twist vehicle having a sliding slot located on an end portion of an driving frame, a pivot shaft located opposite to the sliding slot, a sliding shaft with one end sliding freely along the sliding slot and another end being connected to a rocking arm, a steering shaft being connected directly and perpendicularly to the rocking arm and operated by a steering wheel. As a result, the steering wheel for the twist vehicle can be extended backwardly towards the rear portion of the operating wheels, close to the user's operation position. This arrangement can improve ease of operation by moving the steering wheel towards the user and also maintain better stability by extending the length of the wheelbase and effectively causing the center of gravity to be shifted toward the idle wheel axle.

  • Publication number: 20010040352
Abstract: The vehicle can be used for transportation or recreation. The rider can choose to propel the vehicle by either manipulating the steering mechanism back and forth to “walk” the vehicle forward or backward across the ground or propel it with one foot upon the vehicle and one pushing off of the ground or with ski poles. The vehicle offers all of the mobility of a scooter or skateboard but with the added stability and safety of five wheels. Seated or standing riders can use the scooter. A seated rider can sit directly on the frame or on a raised seat platform. It can be adapted to employ foot manipulation to produce the back and forth “walking” propulsion. The vehicle is capable of adaptation to provide either foot or hand steering. The vehicle is capable of many incarnations including a steerable skateboard, a steerable snowboard and a steerable sidewalk ski-board.
