Publication number: 20180339788Abstract: Disclosed is an electrically non-conductive (e.g., dielectric) protective cap to enclose the threaded shank of a metallic bolt that connects a fuel tank to the wing of an aircraft. The protective cap has a threaded bolt retaining cavity within which to receive the threaded shank of the fastener after the threaded shank has been pushed through a bolt hole formed in a side of the fuel tank. The protective cap is rotated into mating engagement with the threaded shank of the fastener inside the fuel tank so as to completely surround and protect the shank against a lightning strike during flight. By counting the number of rotations of the protective cap into its mating engagement with the threaded shank of the fastener, an indication is provided of the number of threads of the threaded shank that are located inside the fuel tank.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2017Publication date: November 29, 2018Inventor: Joe A. Publication number: 20170114822Abstract: An improved counter-bored hex nut of the kind common to the aerospace industry for connecting panels to one another. The hex nut has a positive washer retention feature by which the washer is captivated to prevent the washer from bending away from and/or sliding off the nut. In particular, the improved hex nut has a hexagonal head at one end, to surround a threaded bore and a cylindrical base at the opposite end to surround a counter bore, A coextensive washer retaining lip extends radially from the cylindrical base of the nut so as to encircle the counter bore. A three is applied to the washer so that a cylindrical side wall thereof is bent over and completely around the washer retaining lip of the nut and bided flat against the cylindrical base of the nut below the counter bore.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2015Publication date: April 27, 2017Inventor: Joe A Garcia

Publication number: 20170030379Abstract: A dust capturing system for capturing airborne dust when a fan is turned on includes a fan that is coupled to a ceiling. The fan has a plurality of blades and the fan rotates the blades when the fan is turned on. A plurality of socks is provided and each of the socks is positioned around one of the blades. Thus, each of the socks may capture dust when the fan is turned on.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2015Publication date: February 2, 2017Inventor: Joe Garcia

Publication number: 20150079565Abstract: Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer program products are disclosed. Embodiments of the present, invention can include providing a performance model of a procedure, the performance model based at least in part on one or more previous performances of the procedure. Embodiments can further include obtaining performance data while the procedure is performed, the performance data based at least in pari on sensor data received from one or more motion-sensing devices. Embodiments can further include determining a performance metric of the procedure, the performance metric determined by comparing the performance data with the performance model. Embodiments can further include outputting results, the results based on the performance metric.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: March 19, 2015Applicant: Eastern Virginia Medical SchoolInventors: Geoffrey Tobias Miller, Thomas W.
