  • Patent number: 6378816
Abstract: Linear motion table leg whereby a linear motion assembly is located between a base and a table top mounting plate. Arrays of rollers, some of which are spring loaded, are spaced at 120° and disposed between a configured inner tube and an outer tube to provide for rollerable interfacing between the configured inner tube and the outer tube. A gas spring is centrally located to provide for linear positioning and for locking of the configured inner tube with respect to the outer tube. An alternate embodiment features a ball bearing array disposed between opposing races of the configured inner tube and outer tube to reference the configured inner tube to the outer tube.

  • Patent number: 6286192
Abstract: A clamp assembly for installation at any position along the length of a slot defined by surfaces of a host structure or other structure. The clamp assembly either can receive a mounting rod for supporting objects or can itself include a mounting rod for supporting objects. In one embodiment the clamp assembly includes a two-piece clamp body composed of a pair of opposing substantially mirror-image jaws each having an inner surface with an arcuate channel and a tooth juxtaposing the arcuate channel. The arcuate channels cooperate to accept and frictionally engage a mounting rod to be affixed to the host structure, and the teeth are for entering into a slot defined by surfaces of the host structure. A tightening member is provided for forcing the jaws together. In an alternate embodiment the clamp assembly includes a one-piece clamp body and a mounting rod.

  • Publication number: 20010010779
Abstract: A mechanical locking connector having a wedge, a wedge receiver, and an actuator. A wedge aligns closely to the interior of a wedge receiver and is forced by an actuator to expand opposing sides of the wedge receiver outwardly to frictionally engage any suitably shaped receptor having two corresponding opposing engageable sides.

  • Publication number: 20010004432
Abstract: An attachment system for configured slots which utilizes pivotally opposed major and minor jaws which can be biased in a closed or in an open position. The major and minor jaws are aligned in the receptor cavity of a configured rectangular tube and are actuated to fully and to frictionally engage the receptor cavity. Such actuation also causes outwardly-facing grooves on the ends of the major and minor jaws to engage a suitably-shaped configured slot on a configured tube or other structure. Such preceding action connects a configured rectangular tube and a structure having a suitably-shaped configured slot by the use of the intermediate major and minor jaws. Provisions are also made for snapping engagement of the pivotally opposed major and minor jaws of biased open major and minor jaws with a suitably-shaped configured slot.

  • Patent number: 6123035
Abstract: Shelf assembly system for the rapid assembly of planar shelf boards, desks, tables, audio racks and the like, having opposing interchangeable connector assemblies located at the ends of a leg where each connector assembly frictionally engages a bore in a planar shelf board or other flat horizontal surfaces. The interchangeable connector assemblies include tapered and split male and female connectors which mutually engage and compress inwardly toward each other and outwardly against the planar shelf board bore to secure the leg to each planar shelf board. In a variation, a shelf assembly system is constructed of planar shelf boards and tubular legs having tapered ends connected together with one-piece flexible flanged connectors each composed of right and left mirror-image structures joined by living hinges.

  • Patent number: 6086028
Abstract: A cable management system incorporated for use in routing one or more cables through the readily accessible interior of an open channel structure used for a leg of a table. A positionable access panel is attached by springs to the interior of the open channel structure and is maneuvered to reveal a channel opening and thus allow access to the interior of the open channel structure for cable routing, and is maneuvered once again to close the channel opening and capture the routed cable therein.

  • Patent number: 5971341
Abstract: An adjustable leg system incorporating an inner tube assembly which readily and easily positions vertically in a surrounding and coaxially aligned outer tube assembly. The inner tube assembly is suspended concentrically to and on a counterbalance assembly contained partially within and concentric with the outer tube assembly. An actuating handle at the upper end of the positionable inner tube assembly operates a pushrod assembly which operates and influences a plurality of flat springs, one end of which engages between the inner tube assembly and the outer tube assembly to vertically lock the adjustable leg system in a triangulation configuration. During locking by the flat springs, glides spaced apart at about 120.degree. on the exterior surface of the inner tube assembly are brought to bear against the interior surface of the outer tube assembly.

  • Patent number: 5845589
Abstract: Folding table leg system for positive locking of a table leg in a down and locked position or for positive locking of a table leg in an up and locked position, where a spring loaded lever operated pawl automatically engages an extruded rotatable block member to achieve either an uplocked or downlocked position. A secondary safety lock is also provided. An alternate embodiment provides for a folding table leg system having a minimum of structural components which features primary tangential and wedge locking and secondary locking for massive load or violent shock load occurrence.
