  • Publication number: 20220191752
Abstract: According to an aspect, a source node determines (1002) that a UE served by the source node is a candidate for conditional handover configuration. The source node sends (1004), to a target node for conditional handover of the UE, a conditional handover request that includes one or more parameters indicative of a likelihood that handover of the UE to the target node will be executed. The target node receives (1102) the request and parameters and allocates (1104) resources for the UE, taking into account the likelihood that handover of the first UE to the target node will be executed. The target node sends (1106) handover configuration information for the first UE to the source node, in response to the conditional handover request.

  • Publication number: 20220183080
Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device. The method may be understood to be for handling a random access procedure in a wireless communications network via a network node. The wireless device operates in the wireless communications network. The wireless device refrains, after having sent a first message to the network node requesting random access and having received a first random access response message from the network node, from stopping a timer. The timer is for a time window for receiving the random access response message. The wireless device also continues monitoring both: a) a radio channel for further random access response messages from the network node addressed to a temporary identifier, and b) the radio channel, addressed to a temporary identifier specifically addressing the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20220174512
Abstract: Systems and methods for collection and reporting of Channel Occupancy (CO) statistics for network tuning are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for tuning one or more parameters of a network comprises obtaining a configuration for CO measurement and reporting. The method also includes obtaining a plurality of CO measurements based on the obtained configuration for CO measurement and reporting. One or more of the plurality of CO measurements are obtained when a Radio Resource Control (RRC) state of the wireless device is RRC_INACTIVE or RRC_IDLE. One or more of the plurality of CO measurements are obtained when the RRC state is RRC_CONNECTED. The method also includes reporting a result of one or more of the plurality of CO measurements to a network node. This might allow improved tuning of networks such as tuning of mechanisms that are used to compensate for potential CCA/LBT failures.

  • Patent number: 11317342
Abstract: A radio node (12) is configured for use in a wireless communication system (10) in which system information is transmitted in parts. The radio node (12) in this regard generates explicit signaling that is associated with a first part (16) of system information and that indicates a sequence (24) with which a second part (20) of system information is to be demodulated or descrambled. The radio node (12) transmits the explicit signaling over a signaling channel (25). Correspondingly, a wireless communication device (14) receives system information for the system (10) in parts. The device (14) receives the first part (16) over the first channel (18). The device (14) also receives the explicit signaling over the signaling channel (25). The device (14) further receives the second part (20) over the second channel (22), by demodulating or descrambling the second part (20) using the sequence (24) indicated by the explicit signaling.

  • Patent number: 11310674
Abstract: A base station or other network node configures a network transmission in dependence on a directional scanning reception ability of a wireless communication device targeted by the transmission. An example transmission configuration is selecting or restricting which Transmission/Reception Point to use for the transmission or selecting or restricting the beamforming configuration to use for the transmission. The device complements operations in the wireless communication network by indicating its directional scanning reception ability in initial signaling, such as used for random access, or in Radio Resource Control signaling, or both.

  • Publication number: 20220110037
Abstract: A process allows a UE to acquire an SEN before accessing a target base station/node during a RACH-less handover. The SEN may be provided to the UE in various ways. For example, the SEN may be provided as part of a handover command message (e.g., RRCReconfiguration) or a master information block (MIB). In this manner, the UE acquires the SEN before accessing the target base station/node, which allows the target base station/node and the UE to effect certain timings for the handover. For example, the target base station/node and the UE may set time bounds in which the handover must occur. As another example, different types of uplink grants may be set.

  • Publication number: 20220095187
Abstract: After receiving a handover command (22) that commands a wireless device (16) to perform a make-before-break handover (24), the wireless device (16) continues to receive from a source link (20-0) downlink data packets for an unacknowledged mode bearer (21), until after the wireless device (16) establishes a connection with the target link (20-1) as part of the handover. After the wireless device (16) establishes the connection with the target link (20-1), the wireless device (16) receives from the target link (20-1) downlink data packets for the unacknowledged mode bearer (21). The wireless device (16) preserves a downlink data packet sequence number receiver status for the unacknowledged mode bearer (21), by using the same downlink data packet sequence number receiver status for the unacknowledged mode bearer (21) before and after the handover.
