    Abstract: A network node, a wireless device and methods performed thereby for use in a Random Access, RA, procedure with wireless devices in a cell of the network node are provided. The method includes receiving, from at least two wireless devices, a RA message comprising an RA preamble; transmitting an RA Response, RAR, to the at least two wireless devices, the RAR comprising a TC-RNTI and an RA preamble identifier identifying the received RA preamble; and receiving, from each of said at least two wireless devices, a connection request message comprising a respective S-TMSI. The method includes for a wireless device previously connected to the network node in the same cell, transmitting a connection setup message addressed to a C-RNTI previously assigned to the wireless device; and for a wireless device not previously connected to the network node in the same cell, transmitting, a connection setup message addressed to the TC-RNTI.

The method includes determining, a plurality of transmission opportunities, TXOPs, in which to attempt to transmit a paging signal in a plurality of beams. The plurality of beams have a beam order. The method further includes assigning a predetermined number of the plurality of TXOPs to each beam of the plurality of beams, wherein none of the TXOPs is assigned to more than one beam. The method further includes performing at least one clear channel assessment, CCA, before transmitting the paging signal in one of the TXOPs. The method further includes transmitting the paging signal in a first beam of the plurality of beams using one of the plurality of TXOPs assigned to the first beam based on a first successful CCA covering the used TXOP.

In one of its aspects, the technology presented herein concerns a method in a wireless device for accessing a communication network. Minimum system information associated with a cell and broadcasted from a network node in the communication network is received, wherein the minimum system information comprises a Public Land Mobile Network identity (PLMN ID) list and an indication that at least one additional PLMN is supported by the communication network. If any of the PLMN IDs in the received minimum system information corresponds to an allowed PLMN ID, the communication network is accessed. If no PLMN ID received in the minimum system information corresponds to an allowed PLMN ID, a request for on-demand system information comprising the at least one additional PLMN is sent to the network node.
