  • Patent number: 5224530
Abstract: The combination with a machining tool for machining boles, of a clamping and feeding device for feeding the boles to the machining tool. The clamping and feeding device comprises a slide on which the bole rests during machining. The slide has mounted thereon a pivotable device that directly supports the bole, this pivotable device being elongated and extending lengthwise of the bole and being pivotally connected at one end to the slide. A power jack changes the elevation of the other end of the elongated pivotal device thereby to permit positioning the bole with its heart zone parallel to the direction of movement of the slide. In another embodiment, a lifting device is carried by the slide for lifting one end of the bole relative to the other end of the bole, the lifting device comprising at least one cam supported eccentrically on the slide, and a power jack to rotate the at least one cam to lift the one end of the bole.

  • Patent number: 4843386
Abstract: In a remote control unit for modifying the operating states of physically spaced operating units such as the volume control of a stereo system, the color control of a television set and the brightness control of a lighting fixture, a first key is actuated to call up in a predetermined sequence the different floors of a building in which the operating devices are disposed. The floors are identified on a display as they are called up. Upon, actuation of a second key, further actuation of the first key calls up the different rooms on the last-displayed floor of the building, the rooms being identified on the display. Upon another actuation of the second key, yet further actuation of the first key calls up the operating devices or units disposed within the last room called up by actuating the first key. A reset key is provided for returning to the first member of the uppermost hierarchical grouping (i.e., the first-displayed floor).

  • Patent number: 4459446
Abstract: A configuration for a contact arrangement is disclosed for a switch having two coaxially positioned and generally cylindrical contacts. Each contact contains a coaxial core of ferromagnetic material, and a current-carrying envelope surrounding the core has the form of a helix. The helical envelope creates a current component which sets up a magnetic field in the widening contact gap when the contacts are separated that disperses arcing. Moreover, the field reinforces the closure pressure when the contacts are in their closed position. Ellipsoid shaping enables the field to be normal at all points of the contact-making surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4458232
Abstract: An overload fuse with a fusible conductor and quenching baffles is curved preferably forming a partial annulus, and several quenching baffles are disposed perpendicular to the fusible conductor. Due to its flat design, this fuse has only a small volume and at the same time a large switching capacity because the partial arcs formed between the quenching baffles are driven radially outward by the dynamic forces and are lengthened accordingly.
