  • Patent number: 5724150
Abstract: The position of the edges of a web or sheet is determined by using an optical system in conjunction with a photoelectric receiver. The location of the sheet or web edge can be measured accurately even if the edge has various anomalies. The optical system provides different images of the web or sheet edge in two directions.

  • Patent number: 5671671
Abstract: The rotary screen printing machine has a form cylinder (1) which carries a screen printing stencil (3), and an impression cylinder (2) having at least one cylinder pit (4), in which sheet grippers (5) are installed. In their closing position, the sheet grippers (5) do not project above the printing surface of the impression cylinder (2). Arranged inside the form cylinder (1) is an adjustable doctor (6) which can be controlled by an actuating mechanism (7, 8, 9) in such a way that, during a printing operation, the doctor (6) is pressed against the inside of the screen printing stencil (3), but is lifted off from this screen printing stencil when the open region of a cylinder pit (4) of the impression cylinder (2) passes the form cylinder (1).

  • Patent number: 5664934
Abstract: The stacking board is designed as a stackable pallet (1). This exhibits on its underside, on opposite side borders (1a, 1b), in each case two hollow feet (2) and in each case two hollow latching protuberances (4, 5) with a smaller engagement depth than that of the feet. The feet (2, 3) on each longitudinal border of the pallet are located opposite the hollow latching protuberances (4, 5) on the other longitudinal border. In this manner, when a plurality of pallets are stacked one upon the other, depending on the orientation of the pallets, a tightly packed storage stack can be produced. In the case of this storage stack, the feet of the pallet placed on top are sunk into the hollow feet of the pallet located thereabove. Alternatively, a working stack can be produced, in which case the feet of a pallet placed on top engage into the hollow latching protuberances of the pallet located therebeneath. Thus, adjacent pallets are spaced apart from one another by a predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 5642668
Abstract: A cylinder element adjusting device utilizes one or more translatable threaded bolts to adjust the positions of cylinder carried elements such as front lay marks. Each threaded bolt carries a gear wheel which is rotatable in incremental steps by a drive ratchet that is driven from a pulse-controlled work cylinder. No electrical energy is transmitted to the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5640908
Abstract: A method and apparatus that uses chain delivery system to deliver printed sheets to one of two sheet stacks is disclosed. The sheets are grasped by chain gripper systems and are transported along an upper chain strand. A transfer cylinder is positioned in the path of sheet travel between the two sheet stacks. Sheets destined for the second sheet stack are removed from the upper chain strand by the transfer cylinder and delivered to the second sheet stack by a lower chain strand.
