Abstract: A household appliance for treating objects has a control device and an operating device being a touchscreen. First and second adjustable control variables are displayed as flat touch-sensitive operating elements that are separated from each other on the touchscreen on at least two screen displays of different hierarchy. First adjustable control variables are treatment programs and second control variables are program parameters associated with the treatment programs. First operating elements are displayed on a hierarchically higher screen display with a hierarchy and are associated with treatment programs which are selected by touching an associated operating element. Second operating elements are displayed on hierarchically lower screen display and enable the program parameters to be adjusted. The hierarchically lower screen display follows the hierarchically higher screen display if a first operating element is selected by touch.

The control device displays a display field within a screen display having an operating element and a display element setting and displaying a control variable of the appliance settable by touch. The operating element contains a sensor element having segments. A lowest value of the control variable or an OFF function deactivating the control variable is associated with a first segment and different values of the control variable are associated with further segments. The control device displays at least two display elements after and/or simultaneously with touching the sensor element. The first display element displays lowest settable value of the control variable or OFF function and the second display element displays highest settable value of the control variable. A method for operating the appliance is also provided.

Abstract: A household appliance includes a cabinet-shaped housing comprised of a plurality of walls. At least one of the walls has an arrangement of embossings. The arrangement of embossings includes a first embossing arranged centered in relation to a center of the at least one wall and configured in the shape of a ring when viewed from above. A second embossing is arranged outside the first embossing in substantial concentric relationship to the first embossing and configured in the shape of a ring when viewed from above. At least one third embossing is arranged outside the second embossing and has a strip-shaped configuration. The presence of embossings in the at least one wall is able to reduce vibrations and thereby significantly reduce the amount of unwanted noise.

To this end structures are inventively formed from ring-shaped protrusions distributed in the circumferential direction.
